Oct 25: Difficult or simple?? breakdown of sections

E: very easy
M: piece of cake. Never seen a math section that easy in my life
R: Normal. Easy - Average
S: Extremely difficult as usual.

Why can’t we ever get one of those extremely easy science sections, like the one in the 2008 prep book I got from the guidance office at my school? I only missed one on a stupid mistake when I used it as practice. -1 was a 34, but still why does every ACT I take have to have a really difficult science section?

Writing: Super, super easy. Maybe because I love English, but I just feel like I should expect at least a 34 on this one. 36 easily.
Math: Medium to Easy. Many questions were pretty easy, but there were some that left my head scratching and I either used the process of elimination, or just bubbled in an educated guess.
Reading: WAY easy. The hardest part was the last story about the atmosphere. By then I was totally feeling pressed for time so I just kind of guessed on one of the problems. but the rest I’m pretty sure I got.
S: INSANELY HARD!!! Hahaha. There should be a thread of people who guessed on at least half and what their scores were.

English: Normal stuff, maybe a bit easier than I expected. 32 for me?
Math: First ~18 questions were a joke, overall easy, but around four REALLY hard ones that I simply couldn’t answer. 31 maybe?
Reading: Pretty normal test, I liked a lot of more “sciencey” and sci-fi. Hoping I got 34.
Science: REALLY Hard section, but they had a lot of chem stuff, I loved it and finished 5 min early. 34?
Writing: Being a baseball player, the essay was super easy. 10?

Composite: 32-33?

English: Easy. Finished early. 'Nuff said.
Math: Good. It had stuff I remember doing from precalc, and I used graphs to answer most of the equation questions, so it might’ve been harder for people who didn’t know those tricks. (Like my friend, who ran out of time and guessed on 20+ questions??)
Reading: I didn’t read the passages much, but pretty sure I got most of them right.
Science: Ew. Kill me now, please. I got too absorbed in the photon thing and had to go back and answer the last set of problems really quickly. I didn’t read the passage, just did all the apparent questions and guessed on five-ish. Hoping the curve will be CRAZY GENEROUS. I liked the chem stuff, though. =]
Writing: Our football team was good a few years ago, but we’ve slowly gotten worse. And worse. We haven’t won at all. Thank you horrible football team for my essay. I’ll be bringing cookies.

English: Decent, on par with the red book.
Math: Eh. Math isn’t really my forte.
Reading: I thought this was incredibly easy?
Science: I thought it was pretty straight forward and easy. I take IB biology and chemistry so all the content was familiar in some way or another. I thought I did well… maybe I got everything wrong because everyone on here seems to think it was difficult.

The only sections I finished were english and reading! The rest I had 10 questions left at the end of each section. I guess this is what I get for showing up to the test without even knowing what is on the test, LOL. Otherwise, I thought all of the sections were easy.

English: Pretty easy
Math: Not that bad
Reading: Average
Science: ***??

Eng - Really easy. Possibly 36’d it.
Math - Average. Harder than the practice tests I took earlier in the week but so far it looks like I only missed one. Probably 35’d it.
Reading - Don’t know. I was more rushed than I would have liked but I answered everything and pretty confidently too. Last time I took the ACT I 36’d it so hopefully I do that again.
Science - I had a queezy stomach and I was really really rushed on the last 1 and a half sections. I completely guessed on the chemical equation with the NO O2 and NO2. Last time I got a 31…hopefully I do that again.

So overall perhaps I got a 34.5 = 35?

english-easy (possibly 1 or 2 wrong)
math-quite easy 1 wrong looks like
reading-easy
science-screwed me over =P

^^ hate that stupid section…wonder which idiot decided to make up an impossible reading section and label it “science”

what do you guys think the curve will be for each section

English-Easy-medium
Reading-Easy. Lots of time left over.
Math-Hard considering I’m not done with geometry yet.
Science-Medium except for the Physics part which gets a hard because I’m still taking Physics…
Essay-Easy topic at least. I hope they can read my handwriting…

English - average. I think I got like 1-3 wrong. had about 8 mins left to check answers.
Math - easy. but I always make careless mistakes :frowning: so I checked my answers for about 10 mins straight
Reading - average. I kept zoning out though.
Science - wow I hate science. I know I got at LEAST 2 wrong looking at the other thread on this forum. hate it. checked answers for barely about 5 mins or so, didn’t have any time left over.
Writing - it was okay but I wasn’t used to the ACT style of writing (only SAT) so I was a bit unsure as to how to support my points. I think it was okay though. HOPEFULLY.

hopefully 33-35, but I probably got like a 32 hahaha it’s my first time taking this test.
