nikkigirl, what was the question?
There were quite a few trig questions and I'm not sure which one you are referring to.

the tan=2a/a is just 2... the log i thought was -1... log baseX ((X^2)/(X^11)), right?

what about the pentagon one, i couldn't figure that out.

Ok, The question about which slope would not change the area of the triangle was 0. A=b*h/2. If the point B would just move to the side the base and height would be the same.

The question with the nickels was 21.

Does anyone know the question to the If all tricolor cats are female cats question?

i dont remember the specific angle names, but the external angle was the greatest and the inner one was the smallest? dont quote me on that one lol

No, I don't think the answer to the triangle question is "31." They give you two sides 28 and 15, but they never tell you that it's a right triangle so you can't use the Pythagorean Thm.

the two smallest sides must add up to be greater than the largest side, so the answer was 31.

yea that was it.... nikki. and the deductive cat one.. was if the cat isn't female, therefore it isn't tricolored. and i got slope 0 for that one too

how many do you think missing 5-6 would equal on this hard version of th emath? a lot of people said that it was harder than other ACT math sections

And when you use the Pythagorean Thm, the answer comes out to be 32 or 31.7; not 31.

For that Triangle Question:

la-bl<c<a+b

Pyth Theorem had nothing to do with that question... the lengths of the two smaller sides must be greater than the length of the hyp., therefore only 31 worked

wat was the last one where u can move the line and the area would stay the same the slope of line AB or something. I just found the slope thats it? Why would u do the perpendicular line? slope of 0 means a straight line than it wont be a triangle???

The one with the logic one (femal and tricolor) was easy.

You just need to know how to take the contrapositive.

If a cat is a female, then it is a tricolor.
then If a cat is not a tricolor then it is not a female.

P----> Q then ~Q---->~P

For those in ohio... Did any of you have a ferris wheel problem?? I had no clue how to do that one.. i guessed something like 12+40-40sin(alpha)...

*** is the p->q and q->p thing

That doesn't exist.

Think about it.

If a square is a rectangle then is a rectangle a square.

OBVIOUSLY NOT.

If something is a square then it is a rectangle

if something is not a rectangle, then it is not a square

lol that was the easiest logic question

can we please come to a consensus on the 2nd to last question, the one with point C traveling on a line? there seems to be varying answers. I, myself, put -1/2, but what do i know?
