Oct-27 Science

It's gametes.

I put gametes, too.

i guessed gametes lol, i guessed on everything

What were the last three baseball answers. I had to guessed and chose AAA.

there was also nuclei... but the answer was gameste for sure... 100%

Was that science section a freaking joke? Honestly, this was my first ACT, and I guessed on literally half of the questions (or more)...I glanced through the science section that the guidance councilor handed in the ACT packet the day before the test, and it was about thirty times easier than the one on the actual test...I don't even know what the last two experiments were because I had no time to actually look at them...sigh*. Just ranting here people, but still...I guess I should get a prep guide and retake.

dammit gametes~~ i took bio like 3 years ago. o well i liked September science better, a lot more physics and stuff that you could actually understand in the allotted time.

OMG The science was SOOOO hard!!!!! It probably will ruin my score

Isn't the curve the same for all the tests and not based on the test date. If that is the case the science scores will really be low for this test!

http://www.prepme.com/ACT/act.php

says that its unique to each test

"Scaling is done to make sure that the same percentage of people on each test receive the same score to maintain consistency between ACT tests."

the sept. science was so much easier...

The curve better be amazing.

i got everything besides the last question....i had like 30 seconds left so i couldnt do it properly but i guessed A (forgot the answer)....looking back i think it was D/c since you want to be left with hours as your unit.

edit: looking at 1mx's post 2d/c seems like the right answer, since it happened twice a second. damnit, oh well for bad guessing ><

oh it has to be good. i mean, everyone, literally EVERYONE didn't know how to do the science. i think over 75% of the people thought it was terrible. like, it wasn't like ANY of the practice tests i'd taken last week. i was geting like 2-4 wrong on the science portion every practice tests. i'm sure i got like half wrong on this one. whatever, at least my college superscores the ACT so i can use my 27 from science last time. hopefully i can just get a 36 on both reading and english, and a 32 on the math

I swear it kicked my bootay.

But last time I was demoralized I got a 30...
so unpredictable, esp. when you probably guessed on everything

This science section made me cry :'(

ACT < SAT

this was my first ACT too (junior), never taken this dum thing again >_<

I hate how the science section went through all the areas of high school science (physics chemistry biology and earth science) which really sucked for me because even though I aced the physic chemistry and earth science parts, I literally suck beyond belief at biology, so I guessed on literally every single question on that part. I had NO IDEA what that jargon meant.

I officially hate science.

Did the last 6 questions have a lot of B's? ... i guessed all Bs :)

I thought the science was slightly easy (easier than math). I had one set of problems that I had done in chemistry last year (on the decay of uranium), so i breezed that really easy. The chromosomes one was confusing because there was no scale for what the distance was, so I had to kinda guess there. I forget the others.

^ I agree, the chemistry one was pathetically easy.

I still hope theres a really nice curve this time for this since apprently even the overwhelming majority of CC'ers did bad....I wonder about the general population then! lol

I just did "poorly" because I missed the last question -- didn't have time to understand *** was going on (couldn't reread passage, had like 20 seconds left). I bubbled in "b" just as time was called.. no context for it, didn't even see what B was
