oct. 6 SAT Crucial

Do you think it will be hard since the administrators had all summer to think of the questions

Where did you hear that?

LOL!!! These tests are written so far in advance, all tests receive the same amount of time to develop.

Not to mention the questions can come from random people who submit them... (well, not totally random, but that's besides the point).

cb is probably conspiring right now to create the hardest test in the history of collegeboard, and they'll laugh when everyone ends up at community college

lol don't scare me!!

lol, im nervous as anything

it takes them years to create a test dude. there is no way they could create a test over the summer.

October curves are actually the best (favorable to the test taker)
compared to other testing months ... (March is the worst
time to take it.....wish I had known that )

Some claimed that the Oct will be relatively easiler than the June or the March, what you say?

Don't believe rumors about things you can look up.

http://www.collegeboard.com/research/pdf/rn14_11427.pdf

'easy' or 'hard' in terms of the SAT question content is probably not a good
indicator of how well you will do ....indicated typically by the
scaled score (not necessarily the percentile).

The scaled score is based on the curves. CB's claim that all tests are comparable
seems true enough when you look at multiple QAS released
tests. The part that is clearly different is the curve (or the translation of
your raw to a scaled score).

The same # of questions wrong in oen test could translate to a difference
of as much as 40 points or more in a scaled score! Example: 2 wrong in
March 2007 in Math would be a 760 versus 2 wrong in October 2006 would
have been a 800 :)!

Not much difference between a 760 and 800...true for most schools ....??

no tmuch difference between 760 and 800??? hmm seems like a pretty big difference to me. multiple that by 2 and thats an 80 point difference from a perfect score

WHOA THERE ARE CURVES? Serious! thank the lord oh my goodness. this whole time i thought 1 wrong meant below 800 for math. i was like geeeeeez

I thought June was the hardest of them all. I swear the last june one kicked my ass.

Yeah. SAT October is definetely crucial for me. Its Do or Die and I need to raise at least 500 points on my SAT.

Eh, not so crucial for me, but semi-crucial. Becoming a junior right now but I made some improvements this summer.

its super super crucial for me, i need 80 more points

actually, 2 wrong on October 2006 was a 770 because thats what I got -.-

October 2006 administration had 3 different versions AEPV, BWPV, CFPV
correlation varies based on which one you got...
