@moodragonx Oh, oops, sorry, I feel dumb now.

I kinda wanna take the SAT again, but I can get into pretty much all of the schools I want to get into with those scores, because well, they don’t take the writing apparently, hah(Georgetown & Cornell). Plus my parents are worried if I take it again that I’ll just focus completely on writing and bomb the other two parts, so I’m just registering to take the ACT is December, and I’ll figure out which Subjects I’ll take later(I’m thinking US History, Math 1 and English Lit will be the easiest for me. I don’t remember enough Latin and the Spanish program at my school is crap.)

It’s definitely smart to steer clear from the language subjects unless it’s a native language or if you’ve devoted time to obtaining absolute fluency. Math II is supposed to have an easier curve to it, but not sure.
If you don’t need the writing section then yeah, no need to bother retaking for the sake of improving there. Good luck on the ACT. The link I posted before about the essay will also help if you’re taking the ACT w/ writing.

“No, only the truly ambitious students congregate here.”
I would substitute the word “deranged” in for ambitious, but I agree. This is a terrible sample population if you want a representative group for how people score on the SAT/ACT.

God, I swear, CC is instilling a fear of smart people into me.

And generally I would think only those who got excellent scores would want to post them. No one wants to put up an 1800 if everyone else is getting 2200+.

Math II has a bigger curve, and many more people make 800’s on it. However, it does require pre-cal knowledge and is harder.

I resent that. My mommy says I’m special, not deranged. But yeah, there’s a reason that the the average SAT is like a 1500. What, did you think that CC students went out under fake names and identities and scored a ton of 600’s for every 2300+ they got?

SAT2 Failz

510 physics (took the class last year and didnt study over summer at all)
620 math 2 (im bad at math)
620 lit (idk what happened)

good thing im sending these to none of my schools because my ACT is beastlier!

so to speak, the guys who post here all get like a 2200+
the guys who not might, first have no idea of the exsistence of this websit or just too shame to post a scores lower than 2000+ among those insanely high scores.
A, that makes sense,I just thought every american students get at least 2000+

Lol, no, Ice Cream. All of my friends in my grade have scores in the 1400-1600 range(My best friend got a 1000. On 3 sections. Eek.), and I only know 2 seniors who did better than I did.

Not gonna lie, I think some people lie about their 2400’s. I mean, the population of people who get 2400’s is about 200 a year, or around an average of 20 per test. If I’m not mistaken, I’ve seen around that many on this thread alone! I highly doubt every 2400-er for this past SAT would come here (nice as the community is) to inform of their success. :P

Yeah, call me jealous. I’m in 2340 land and proud of it.

wow how can you guys score sooooo perfect im so depressed my scores didnt even raise a little bit 1600 and still 1600 is there any suggestion please :(

While it’s entirely possible that people are untruthful when reporting their scores on an anonymous message board like this, I’m inclined to believe that the vast majority of these reports are accurate. As it has been stated before, CC is a self selecting community and is also relatively well advertised (my school’s Naviance lists the newest threads for each college on the stats page). A lot of people who eventually manage upper end scores search the internet for ways to compensate for weaknesses in their own testing ability and in the ability of pep books to teach them (I know I incessantly did this over the past few months). This site has perhaps some of the best test prep advice on the internet, so it’s no surprise that people who lurk here have the potential to achieve higher scores than the rest of America. That’s not to say that you HAVE to be on this website to get a high score, it’s just that many people who frequent it do score high.

Javkhaa: I went from 1630 to 1970… Its possible , just study

@Wedgedawg: It’s on my school’s Naviance site, and I’ve lurked for quite awhile before giving and posting. I’m sure that quite a few people here did legitimately make 2400’s. My only emphasis is to take what we see here with a grain of salt. Plus, it helps sooth my ego a bit. :D

I agree with everyone about all these great scores…I got a 2030, first time taking, and that is already one of the highest scores in my school, and people ask me why I would ever take it again(idk what that says about my school…) Here, however, that is definately on the lower end, but I’m confident I’ll get it up.

First attempt scores:
CR: 800
M: 770
W: 780

Very Good. Congrats. I hope your GPA is also very good and other volunteering activities too.

Ack.

So, when I first say my SAT (2350) I was pretty happy. I just checked more carefully and realized I was 1 blank question and two wrong from a 2400. If only I hadn’t drunk those two coffees… then I wouldn’t have been so preoccupied over my bladder. Ah well, ya never know.
