Oct SAT scores

Timing question - I have trouble with the idea of sending scores before seeing them. If we wait to see Oct SAT scores on the 24th and then immediately send them, will they be received in time for ED? Thank you so much in advance - you guys are always great!

I appreciate your hesitation in sending scores ‘blindly’. Call and ask admissions directly on this one.

College board does have a list of test dates and when they start sending out scores to schools you designate prior to taking the test. When they receive them depends on the college and their system of receiving scores.

[SAT Reasoning Test - SAT Score Reporting Dates](Getting SAT Scores – SAT Suite of Assessments | College Board)

Prior to this year College board had clear language following this chart regarding sending scores other then in conjunction with a test (ie schools designated prior to testing) stating “Scores are delivered approximately five weeks after we receive the request”. It is no longer there. You will want to contact college board if you have questions. Perhaps this was a ‘worst case scenario’, they have improved, so it no longer applies. They also note that not all schools accept rush reporting.

@Cal1983, one of our recent blogs addressed this very question ([W&M Blogs » Early Decision Questions Answered: Standardized Testing](http://blogs.wm.edu/2013/09/23/early-decision-questions-answered-standardized-testing/)). Basically, we cannot guarantee that Oct. SAT scores will arrive in time to be considered ED because that’s out of our control however, they generally arrive in time. As @blueiguana said, the College Board can give you info on timing of delivery. We likely need scores to arrive by mid-Nov. in order to have a chance at being considered.

Thank you both for your answers!
