Oct. SAT too late for Early Decision App?

If I take the SAT in October, will I have time to receive the scores and apply to UT Austin Early action/decision (dont know the difference)? Or do I have to take the one in June to have enough time?

I took it in May, and I think I got like a 1950, but I'm gonna study all summer and hopefully get a 2200+

Really appreciate the advice.

Check with the school, most of the time if you rush the scores they will be received in time.

…Also, I’m not sure, but I don’t think UT Austin has Early Action or Early Decision admissions?

UT has niether early action nor early decision so obviously Oct score will be fine for regular admission. For most colleges that actually have early action or early decision, an October score sent regular delivery via College Board is usually fine.

I assume you are out of state for UT? Please spend some time familiarizing yourself with the application process. The website is very thorough if you follow all of the links and drill down to the applicable details.

Here’s the deadline page – all apps are due December 1. The only comment I’d add is to carefully watch the separate requirements for any honors programs. Plan II is particularly sticky and has historically offered rolling admissions, so the earlier the better, as apps filed close to the deadline can miss out.

I believe that you can usually even get November scores in for early decision in most colleges.
