Oct. Test curve?

Has anyone taken an Oct. Test before, and list what they got for how many wrong?

I heard the Oct. test has the harshest curve, can anyone further prove this?

The October test doesn't have the harshest curve.
It's a myth. Curves will always vary. Besides, the curves don't matter that much.

Ive heard from someone that oct test is easiest. which means harsh curve i guess

Easy is good.
Hard problems scare me.

Yeah, I like medium tests :"). Decent curve, not so hard questions.

Haha yeah... because if you get a hard math problem that you just can't figure out for some gay reason(test day stress..etc), even though you know how to do it.. then you're screwed. But easy test=that prolly wont happen!! Also.. it's easier to stop dumb mistakes on easy exams as opposed to trying to figure something out that you can't do

yes i agree! easy test por favor!

All the smart people who have been studying all summer long and taking extensive prep courses will be taking this exam because they might need to do good on it for college, so it might be harsh. In June, mostly 11th graders take it and not too many people want to take it at the end of the year so it might be easier, but it really depends and it's not always easy or hard.

Our of curiosity, when they curve, do they discount the question or just lower the benchmarks in general? O_o I've never been able to figure that one out XD

^^
I don't think the curve works like that. Despite what people believe, the CB is not so stupid. They know this happens. I'm pretty sure the curve is set by the difficulty of questions, not by how many people solve them correctly.

Think about it, if the scores were relative to the abilities of the test-takers of THAT month only, we would have the same number of 800ers each time. But we all know that the percentile rankings for a particular range do vary TREMENDOUSLY each year. ;)

^Agreed and dam it ivychan you already have your 2400.

^uttaresh is completely correct. Here is what you would have scored in October with 2 wrong on math:

2005 760
2006 770
2007 750

The average over the Jan, May, and Oct tests since 2005 for two wrong is 763.

Makes sense, 2006 and 2005 were about normal, but 2007's was really easy.

So it really doesn't matter which questions you miss, but just the number of them that you miss?

(Haha, shiomi, I'm just curious XD)

^If you're so curious, then take the SAT again after handing me that 2400. :"D!!!!!

Haha, I'm so out of practice...if I take it now, I think I could only WISH for a 2300... TT^TT

Maybe, when college admissions are over in May, I'll go take the June exam for fun. XD probably not >_>
