October 15 PSAT Discussion

Recent Research is correct. Other ones were extreme (not given directly) or illogical.

i said both used recent research too.

Ya it's recent research, you're correct

do you guys know the other choices?

recent

the other choices were like both had a view frm the earth
the earth had no representation to mars surface or something

so for the worldy awareness, we agree its that and not urban affluence (beucase my friend who got a 80 on CR as a sophomore said it was urban affluence-his arguemtn was that worldly awareness was a smimilarity betwene rural and apartment dwellers and that the difference was that apartment dwellers had a better opportunity to advance in society)

What was the answer to the writing question about the buildings not having electricity after the ice storm or something like that. I remember I was debating because it and their

there was this one SC...
it was a doctor who had to treat a diverse population? does anyone remember anything?

Buildings can't be their.

That's the assumption I made, and it eliminated at least 3 answers right away.

it was 'its' or something

@fluffy: i can't remember the first blank, but i believe the second was aid. she had to do this without aid.

@sportgreet: it was "their" because of buildingS, i believe.

I have a weird feeling about this now.

For the correcting sentences thing for Writing, did anybody else get only 1 E (None of the Above)? I found mistakes in all but one but usually at least 3 questions are E...

fluffy: u mean versatility

@fluffy: yea i remember diverse

it had to do with how difficult it was to treat a diverse population with limited resources

there were 2 Es, the one with thoroughly enough and the other with argumentation (that was correct)

what did yall put for bear - > pertains to or carried forward..?

There was also another question about "There seems to be many .... etc" in the writing. Should it be "Seems" or "Seem" because it was plural afterwards?

what about the students in the museum sentence in writing? i can't really remember it..

and which "argumentation" one was this?

@monkeycloud

Even though I put no error, there's been a consensus that SEEMS is grammatically incorrect because of the plural.

Argumentation is a reference to

The speech and debaters practiced augmentation having.... something along those lines.

Ok after reading this I'm worried. What would be a -4 reading, -4 writing, and -0 math?
monkeycloud- it is "seem" not seems, since it was plural.
Also, for the apartment and rural dweller, I put worldly awareness?? Cause the rural dweller is very narrow-minded, which is what the passage talked about? So, it's worldly awareness right?

I think we've exhausted all of our brain cells in trying to remember the exam as the questions discussed fifteen pages back are reoccurring again.

But of course we will inevitably smack our heads in December when we get the results -_-
