October-2009-International-Math, CR, Writing

Yeah.. so there was the math question about programming color backgrounds. it was the last math question in one of the sections. was it 120 or 112?

for the folding question (I II II).. does it form closed box? it was only I rite?
did anyone get 20.5 for the speed of sound question?..or was it the cold air function question?

and for CR was Pundit one of the vocab answers?..

writing was easy, there were 3 no errors in the 35 min section?.. because i wasn't sure about that.

seems that I got different paper
I got my reading passages which were about the Nikhil boy, and the geologist
I think CR was quite tough
I had 2 35-question writing sections, i don’t know which one could was experimental…

It was 120, for all the combinations are 16x8=128 and you should substract 8 of them to eventually get a result of 120

for folding I came to the conclusion that both I and II were forming a cube and III wasn’t

I remember bubbling a 20.5 but I don’t remember what was it for

for the CR - i think I bubbled “polymath” because it was about a man able to do a lot of different things

Yup the answer was 20.5…it was a function question involving speed of sound or something? We had to find the value of ‘t’…

I chose ‘Polymath’ too…it means a learned person who expertises in a variety of fields…
I remember having 2 35 question writing sections…the hybrid car one is the one which is counted as far as i know bcz the ones who had experimental math also had this section.

The Nikhil passage seemed vaguely familiar to me…i just realized it’s an excerpt from ‘The Namesake’ by Jhumpa Lahiri.

I remember their being a lot of ‘no errors,’ yes.

I and II make cubes, but III does not make a cube. I tried it by labeleing the squares, then drawing a see-through, three dimensional cube and labeling the sides accordingly.

Why spend so time on that? If look at that, you can see there no way on of the sides would make the “left” side. It took me like 10 seconds…

i only got 2 or 3 (i forget exactly) ‘no errors’ in writing mc

i didnlt get that much either~~

is the box-folding question experimental?

^^^ yeah i think the box question was experimental. coz i didn’t have it.

and did any of the CR answers had lexicon. ?
wat about hobble?
and comandeering…amalgation ??

I put hobble. Because augment didn’t sound right. I looked up “hobble” when I got home and it sounds like it’s right. Also I went with lexicon as the answer too because it means words, so it fitted the sentence. Don’t remember what I put for the commandeering question though but I do know it confused me! I think I may have said commandeering actually.

hobble is right

synthesized…crystallized is right

lexicon is right

ok so i missed one synthesized part.

what essays did you have?
