anyone on the “and after all that work, there was no work” thing in the name-changing passage?

OH and another question. I had it down to either “intense and something like uncontrolled” or “intermittant and nonsensical”

I did put intense…

captious and edifying, yes
and yes to satellite too

the extent of boy’s talent in art can arouse an admiration for himself.
therefore, admiration is correct.

captious and edifying? crappp. i think i got that one wrong too.

no, it was admiration.

In the story about Michelangelo, Michelangelo had already been discovered, whereas in the story about the boy he was just a farmhand or something. Also, when you admire someone’s work, you admire that person. Just because it didn’t say so in the passage, you can assume that the teacher admired Michelangelo even more after discovering he had so much skill.

Metis was a satellite.

“and after all that work, there was no work”

I put nikhil was annoyed by the extent of work involved?

I put mocking.

Yes! I got the satellite one! What I found a bit disturbing about this exam was that even the “easy” vocab was somewhat difficult - for me at least.

I put he’s surprised the work’s finished?

i still think it’s “frugal” as opposed to “independent”
where as you can assume someone is “independent” by refusing their parent’s money, they are explicitly “frugal” (defined by dictionary dot com as “requiring few resources”)

I felt like there was not enough evidence to support “surprised that the work was done.”

Chair2 I’m with you.

i put surprised as well.

i felt like there wasnt enough evidence for any of them =P i dunno.

were nikhils’s parents confused or did they listen to him?

I think it was the surprised option. Why would he be annoyed when there’s no more work? Did he want more work?

It’s independent. We’ve been over that one more than enough. We don’t know where she gets her income from, as she is independent from her parents. She might be a spendthrift for all we know.

I felt that he expected to do more work that he actually did.

I put surprised that the work was finished as well.

Can someone confirm/deny/explain hobble and explain a reaction? So the parents had a reaction to the engagement announcements or something? Apparently I put praising an activity. :(
