October 2009 SAT II - Biology

savannnahs are grasslands which are very fertile btw.
and they are known for peroidic droughts, that hinder the growth of large trees.
therefore tropical rainforest had to be the answer

what was the question for the plants in the aquarium one? i cant even remember it

why did o2 increase when temp increased??

no the other aquarium question, not the one asking for the color of the light…

OHH i put enzyme function/optimum temp
but rainforests have poor nutrient soil? i dun think so – thats why i didnt choose it and chose savanna:/

closer to optimum temperature for the enzymes? i think that was the best answer

yeah idk about the nutrient soil but savannah makes no sense either way

im looking up savanna now lolll
“Low-nutrient soils” [Tropical
Savannas](http://www.runet.edu/~swoodwar/CLASSES/GEOG235/biomes/savanna/savanna.html)

i dunno that was a tricky q :(

PR says that many grasslands have “especially fertile soil.” It also describes tundra, saying “most plants are short.”

but are savannas and grass land the same?
i thought of the Lion king loll. and it seemed kinda dry around there

so what would a raw score of 60 be???

In fact the soils are very thin and the rock below them highly weathered - tropical rain forest

PR describes grasslands as “Grasslands (Savannas)” so I think they are definitely the same thing.

jw am i the only one who put savanna. it seems like im wrong
anyways other answers we can confirm?

What did you guys get for the ion used in muscle contraction?

Also - yes. Bad soil was rainforest - straight outta barron’s
Tundra was the third one because it said high latitude also (which means nearer to the poles)

For the gene flow one, gene flow = loss or gain of genetic trait from a population. It’s better than drift.

oh snap for real? i put gene flow but then i after the test i thought it was genetic drift (since its about chance?)
i chose calcium btw for the muscle
yea now i think im wrong about the rainforest  oh wells

“What did you guys get for the ion used in muscle contraction?”

I put calcium

it was calcium

What about the aquarium one? Where was the oxygen produced? Why did it increase?

and yes since it said chance, it was genetic drift because that is a change in the gene pool due to chance

Damn that’s -1.25…

How many can you miss and 800?
