October 2009 SAT II - Chemistry

i think it was 3:64 or something

The answer to that should be 3:64

i thought i did terribly, but u guys r making me feel better lol

Aren’t you not supposed to discuss specific questions on the SAT Chemistry Test??? They made us sign on it… anyways i’m not discussing questions… just speculation of my score

1 omitted
i think i missed 2 with one omit… and i am generally accurate with score predictions
estimated score: 81.5
score range: 77.25-84…(± 3 in each direction… based on probable human error/being worried over nothing)
i think the cut off for an 800 will be 78 this time.
Most likely score ~800…
i think the curve will be generous this year… it was challenging time-wise, although not too difficult.

we are allowed to talk about it

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/642148-embargo-october-2009-sat-discussion-lifted.html

3 omit
dunno but i think i got a lot of them wrong
not feel good about it
feel terrible :S

wait, so it takes 78/85 to get an 800?

what was the bronsted lowry question?

i also got 3:64, and pOH 10, because the pH was 4…what other questions do you remember?

Not sure if it was on this test or physics

but wasn’t one answer the curve with the inverse relationship with T and R

I didn’t have to guess on any of the questions. This is my second Chem. I got 790 first time, trying for 800 this time and pretty sure I got it.

From the “going for 800” perspective, this was a pretty fair test. No flame tests. Pretty easy descriptive chemistry. Pretty easy solubility rules. Pretty easy lab questions. The rest is just a matter of studying and knowing how to do it. If you studied the bread and butter and knew your stuff, it was a good test.

Are all compounds containing H dissolved in water, bronsted lowry acid/base or something like that.

In the interest of not getting my score (possibly) canceled, I’m not responding to any posts in particular.

But…

In general, I’ve noticed that OH- contains a hydrogen, and is very much basic.

lol why would you retake a 790

Because it looks totally awesome when you have 6 800’s on your CommonApp instead of 5 800’s and a 790.

I skipped like 12 questions because I ran out of time. Should I cancel?

Don’t cancel. You never know. You can always not report. Christian, don’t make me feel bad. I had one month to virtually completely self-study the test during school with extra-currics 5 aps no sleep and other app crap; I will be grateful for whatever score I get :).

Don’t worry. My 4 APs are jokes and Moot Court, AcaDec, Science Olympiad, and Mathletes all aren’t in season yet. Quite simply, I had nothing better to do.

New pressure was 4 atm. Start with 1 atm. Halved volume, doubled temperature. Pressure quadruples.

Which of the elements/compounds were the best conductors of electricity towards the end?

^What? Why was it not 8?

Oh wait, it was 8. sorry. The original pressure was 2 atm, I believe, so the answer would quadruple to 8.

I remember the question wrong but I’m positive I did it right hahaha
