October 2009 SAT II - Math Level 2

I got 2 sin x. And like a fool, I forgot to add n and 1 to my final answer for the different factor question, so I put 6.

ok now i know for sure i omitted like 4 and made like 4-5 mistakes… so thats like what 730 -740?

I think that’s about right nikeboy. Maybe a 750 if the curve is nice.

oh the temperature question was 30.01 and then II only (which was initially its at 75). anyone got that?

@nikeboy3004 I believe the answer was I and II only because if you set the limit of that equation to t approaching infinity you get 0 for the part with the e so as t approaches infinity the limit is 55

I don’t remember what I got for the first one but I don’t think it was 30.01.

And I’m pretty sure I said 1 & 2 for the second one. I graphed the equation and traced points.

@ jonny
you mean 3root(2)/2, right? because it’s a 45/45/90, not a 30/60/90

but no I was it eventually approaches 55, and the equation was 55+20e^(-0.0231t) so doesnt it keep decreasing and not approach 55?

The sphere one was Root3/13 Right??!!?!?!?

@nike if you set t to a really big number the part on the right with the e gets closer and closer to 0

and for the 2 questions about the cheese in the refrigerator where it was 55 + 20e^-.2031t…did yall get 30 seconds till it gets to 65 degrees, and that only I and II were correct
I. its 75 degrees before being in the frig
II. it keeps getting cooler till it reaches 55 degrees
III. it was 50 degrees at one point
III is the only incorrect statement right?

@Nikeboy

I just plugged 10,000 into the equation as t and got 55. 100,000 did it too.

e^(-0.0231t)??? im not gonna ask how u remembered that

I probably got around a 650-700…

@nikeboy
The limit as t approaches infinity is 55.

nvm… damn… my scale was messed up, it was too large and it looked like it was approaching 0. what a stupid mistake :(

I think it was only I and II and for the population increase one I got around 7%.

ye 1 and 2. cant go below 55. so the third choice is wrong

and for the cube one where it had a triangle in it, and asked for the perimiter…wasnt it just 3 on the square root of 2

"Does anyone remember if the question with the roots asked for how many distinct roots, or just how many real roots? "
It was real roots I believe. And I put in 2 or 4. Is that right?
