October 2009 SAT Math

If x<y and r<s then,

I. x + r < y + s
II. x - r < y - s
III. xr < ys

What is the answer to this?

who remembers the question about the pie chart thingy with a bird or so? i just figured i might have read the question wrongly :frowning: did it say number that are not birds or number that are birds? post the answer if u know it.THX

tristam the answer to that question was all of them(I,II,III)

No dkay, you must consider negative numbers. Also, Just to make sure. If someone was to say “take the square of x” they would mean the square root right?

Only I ^ koken911 is right.

Plug in -3, -4, -5, -6 for the respective values and you’ll know why!

hey i took the SAT yesterday and i wanna know if any one remembers the question in the grid in about the diagonals ? if yes plz tell me the question and the answer

no,i dnt think so,square of a number is like x^2 not root of x

even if im wrong im pretty sure its gonna be I and II.Just found out III was wrong, but do u remember the pie chart question?? cos im kinda anxious:if i messed up bcos of a readin mistake ild b so p i s s ed

I thought it was used like: “Find the square of x” —> x^(1/2) or “Find x squared”—>x^2
I always get confused on squares…

oops, sorry.hopes u got it this time  square of x or x squared is x^2 and square root of x=x^1/2

someone please the pie chart question@!!! answer/question pls

**** -_-…

why is not the reminder 3???

=(

At dkay: The answer to the bird question is 1800. Question was how many animals were NOT birds. There were 2000 animals in total, and 10% were birds. Leaving 90% NOT birds = 1800

Hope i remembered the details correctly.

dkaycoolnerd, the answer was 1800 and thats the # of everything - birds…

Sorry if u thought they wanted the # of birds… this happens to me all the time =\ and it really KILLS me when i do it ="(… hard luck

Does any one remember the question that had 2, radical 2, ? ? ? I think I chose 2 on it…

about the x<y ans r<s

x+r<y+s right
x-r<y-s wrong
xr<ys wrong

Definitely sure

For what fraction of the time did the girl bike uphill and then downhill, at 4 mph and 2 mph?

Does anyone remember the question?

I remember that i got 6/7 for the question

…a lot fo people are saying they got 4/7

the answer is 4/7

6/7 was for the 3 circles one
