October 2009 sat test discussion

YEAH that was the hardest test ever. math was alright, but that stupid last passage (woman and arts)

how is the sat test graded? is there a curve? would a questioned be dropped if SO MANY PEOPLE got it wrong?

and WOAH yeah that essay was something different

Hmm, was Nikhil/Gogol exp?

And math was extremely easy, wouldnt be surprised if i get 700s

haha, i thought the publisher girl was really hard too. unfortunately for us, it was not experimental; my bro had math exper and he had it

sucks though, I missed like 2-3 on vocab alone - who would know polymath or lexicon? and both those counted

nikhil gogol was legit.

yeah math did seem easy - thats almost a detriment because stupid mistakes cost you an 800

Yeah, i think i did well on nikhil gogol so im happy, and that woman and arts one was ridic, but i wasnt shooting for 800 on math, im aiming for 700 math and 680 cr and i think i got close

so which one is the experimental one? i been hearing different people saying the gogol name one, the art critic, and the one with the sleeping one all appeared on their tests >.>

women and arts, then one about art critic and naps and the indian names one
must be art crtics

im hoping is Art critic or the Women and Arts, i did absolutely horrible on those.

women and arts was leggggit ;( soz

I had maths experimental, and I also got Geography, art and women, Zen, nap…

I had a math experimental too. Anyone know what it might be? Did anyone else have a math section with a graph about boys and girls going to their lockers?
women and arts, naps, indian namesake and geologist were all definitely legit

i had the same dilemma…i think section3 was expermental because it was weird to have harder math in the beginning of the sections
i had student produced answers for section 4

Wow Math… started off pretty tricky, then became so easy. I thought it was a mistake… WASL difficulty math.

what wasl?

Oops, I did forget I’m not on the Washington section of this board anymore.

so anyone think section 3 math was expermiental?

Are you kidding me? “Only weeks”? I was preparing for like 3 days and I feel pretty confident, although English isn’t ma native language.

I can’t believe my eyes. The passage on Women in Arts was so easy that I couldn’t even believe it. Well, there were two questions I wasnt sure about, on I dont remember and in the other one I relied on my instinct, which told me what does “wry” mean. I don’t understand what are you complainning about. For most of you it was written in your native language so there shouldn’t be many problems with vocabulary. It’s much easier for you to understand the meaning of the sentence or passage, and you don’t have to waste so much time thinking about the meaning of the words.

I’m from the Czech republic and I’d been preparing for the SAT for like 3 or 4 days before I took it, before I just didnt have time.

btw math was sooo easy I almost started laughing when I read the questions. I’m pretty sure that an average freshman on a gymnasium would get 700+.

For math which one was the experimental?
There was a ■■■■■■■■ question in section 4 that didnt have an answer.
It was like two lines with lengths 3 and 4, a point F and a line “l”. The question was "What is the distance between point F and line “l”?

Anyone get that question? The answer could’ve been 4 or 5…

Well, I had 4 math section so one of them had to be experimental, but in my test it was either 4 or 5, because the 1st math section (2nd) was different than the other ones.
