I'll start it off.

English - 6,7 off
Math - 6,7 off
Reading - 4,5 off
Science - 8,9 off

What do you think those scores are?

Interesting from comments I’ve seen so far, with lots of different points of view…but a few observations:

– overall, science sounds like it was a little harder than usual
– math may have had a calculus/pre-calc question or two going a little beyond the trig you would normally expect…easy if you have taken calculus, but forget it if you haven’t
– reading sounds about average level of difficulty (but harder than the September ACT which was pretty easy with a very rough curve as a result)
– no idea on english!

Thought english was easy
thought math, reading was average
thought science was difficult

I ■■ up the science part, ■■■■ the Car questions

Science = epic fail. I’ll be lucky to even get a 30.

Reading = +1 or 0 curve???

math curve predictions?
i’m prayinggg for a generous curve, i felt that science was easy though.

math is easy, so is reading (I feel it alike Toefl reading with time pressure) + english
science is not hard, for the truth, but the time pressure ****** me up

English was fairly easy.
Reading and math were about average, with the math having a few stumpers to make people waste alot of time if they didn’t immediately know how to solve it.
Science was a *****. 'Nuff said.

i felt like most of math was pretty easy, but i still felt like again, there were definitely a few questions thrown in that could trip me up, badly.

I thought the Math and English were quite easy this time around. The Reading this time was easy overall; Humanities is normally really difficult for me, but this one was quite easy. The Natural Science passage was a bit hard to follow though. The science section I thought was quite difficult, but it might just be the fact that my proctor called five minutes when I was only halfway through the genetics passage. I nearly passed out, but then I realized that there actually fifteen minutes left and she had just read the time wrong. :)

I’m not expecting the curve to be very generous on the English or Reading, but because there were quite a few calculus and trig problems on the math, I wouldn’t be surprised if the math curve is pretty big. As far as the science goes, I can’t say because my whole testing room was just in panic over the time mistake. I will say that the majority of the science passages were easy, but the car one and the capacitor one were a little tricky for me.

Ok i thought the english was easy so the curve wont be generous at all for that. The reading should get a slight curve for the last passage. Math deff needs a curve they threw in alot of *** questions. Science some portions were easy the car passage made me want to kill myself and the fighting scientist was alot harder then usual!!

Alright, so I’m thinking that the sections in order from easiest to hardest were English, reading, math, and science. So based off this, here are my predictions:

English: -1=35, -2=34, -3=33, -4=32, -5=32
Reading: -1=35, -2=34, -3=33, -4=33, -5=32
Math: -1=35, -2=35, -3=34, -4=33, -5=32
Science: -1=36, -2=35, -3=34, -4=33, -5=32

Math I believe was difficult enough to merit a -2=35; however, science was not quite difficult enough to merit a -2=36 (probably the most generous scale). Comments?

^While I would love that, I think math and science would be a bit more harsh. Reading and English seem, though.

Yeah, there probably wont be 2 35s for math. There may be 2 33s, however because kids who do well but aren’t at the top may not have understood the trig questions. The science curve is too generous though, like WongTongTong says.

the math could be a 35 while missing 2. Some people just don’ttake math classes that would give them the knowledge to answer it, but calc students can get them in under 10 seconds.

ive seen about 5 tests where it goes

60 36
58-59 35
56-57 34
55 33
54 32

and so on…

^Why does everyone keep saying there were calc questions on it? I took calc bc last year, but I did not find myself using ANY calc on the exam. What were the calc questions?

Also, Id much rather prefer a -1 = 36, but I doubt math will be +1. :/

Isn’t this the same thing we said on the June test?

Basic calc, wongtongtong. Not calc bc

To be honest, I won’t expect any generous curves. At best, if there’s a curve, it will be a -1 or -2 to any applicable sections.
