October 2010 ACT Science Thread

Wasnt there a question where you had to convert like 619 seconds into mins, and it was closet to 10 minutes?

^yes I got that

@WongTongTong
Does A A A sound familiar to you?

I dont look at the asnwers on the sheet. I just pick what the right answer is, so I dont remember if I picked AAA. But I do know that I got that right.

By first three are we talking about the plants question? I had that and thought it looked weird and changed the first one to D I think… Does anyone remember the answer letters for the rest of them? I thought that was the hardest passage! It was so confusing.

@linger uhh great i divided wrong…i think i put 15. efff.

-.- 600 something / 60 is pretty darn close to 10 lol. Howd you get 15 :o

I can’t do simple math in my head even though I’ve never had below and A in any math class including calc lol…yeah I know it’s sad. I’m pretty sure instead of writing 619 I put 629 then someone accidentally divided the secon part into 200something lol…ahhh. That’s the only one confirmed missed though so

Did anyone else notice a typo on this test? I think it was #18. It referred to trial 1 and figure 2 of experiment 1 or sth like that but was actually asking about experiment 2?!..

Oops I just noticed soccerryan brought it up… Was it a typo though?.

Nope. You’re just making **** up lol :)

if you think you are right about the typo then you should email the ACT ppl and they will actually eliminate that question because it was wrong :slight_smile: event if your are not sure that it was a typo, email them to confirm because this could benefit all of us :)

Yeah email plox, also tell them that they should +1 everyone’s score instead of removing question :p

C A C B A C

Someone said they got BBC for the last 3, (HELL YEAH! LUCKY GUESSING!) can anyone verify or remember the other 3??

What the answer to the question about the voltage graph?

The question went somehting like accoridn to figure 1, as the voltage increased, what happened to the capicator?

I put that the capicator was being fully charged.

And there was one question about the current and i put the capacitor would be discharged. ARe these right?

I remember putting those exact answer but I’m not very good at the science section so im not sure they are right.

Hm… dont quite remember now. But I do remember:

1) 10
2) as voltage increases, the Charge, Q, increased
3) At t= 0 and q= 0 , the capicator was uncharged
4) on the current one, at the end of the time interval, the capicator was fully uncharged.

free: I thought it said what did Q do as voltage increased, no?

How did you know it was fully charged? I out the voltage as a number or somethig

^ah that’s what i meant to say! Thanks. So we have the exact answers then?
