OCTOBER 2010 Chemistry

yeah it was 1.6 and they said the other one was limiting

I don’t like Barrons – it has sooooo much excess info that you don’t need. Do sparknotes

Does anyone remember any other of the TTCE Questions?

@ jooninnyc. I remember putting 2:1 as well, although idk if its right.

also was there an answer 1.0g or was i wrong on that. i dont remember the question at all.

What? This makes no sense. .1 moles of oxygen is 3.2g. .05 moles of oxygen is 1.6g.

also got a stretch of B’s towards the end.

@dd1993: I agree with you.

At the same time, it didn’t have any information on the colors of sulfates.

What are you guys predicting the curve will be for chemistry? Raw score for 800 and 700 Plz?

PR does though, in the back. So maybe try using both PR/Barron’s? Better to be overprepared than under, right?

@timmycho0408: I can’t say I know for sure, but people have told me it’s around -3 for 800, though that sounds a little harsh to me.

-4 is an 800 on the more recent College Board test.

This is copied from a post by silverturtle “from a released collegeboard test”

85 - 800

62 - 700
61 - 700
60 - 690

Hope this helps

what are your predictions? How many did you guys omit or know that you got wrong?

gahhh i think i’ll get 750+??? hoping and praying.
i know i got 1 or 2 questions wrong… the chem grading curve is ridiculous. only getting 3 wrong for 800? out of 85 ques? sighh

anyways, i remember 4 B’s in a row. i double checked them cuz i thought it was weird.

^so do I.

Also, wasn’t there a stretch of 3 or 4 D’s in a row? It was before all the B’s.

Do you guys remember the question which had a graph of temperature (C) vs. time. The temperature flat-lined at around 150 C, and 50 C.

The question was, which of the following is true:

I chose something regarding the heat of vaporization…

^yeah, i remember. the answer choices included some random things. i think the answer is where the heat of vap > heat of fusion or wtvs, cuz the flat line thing was longer when it was turning from liquid to gas.

hm… not so sure about the stretch of E’s… i remember a couple e’s…?

Yeah it was heat of vap > heat of fusion

I unfortunately just can’t remember my answer choices – I just remember getting 4 B’s in a row

Did you have to make any ICE charts or use the Henderson equation?

Any other math-intensive equations?

^I thought there was very little involved math questions on this test.

That doesn’t mean this test was particularly easy, it just wasn’t very math based.

Can someone who took the october exam tell me what specific elements of descriptive chemistry and types of reactions they were tested on? Thanks
