Err i thought it was agreed upon for the “there were disagreements” answer. How does objectively valued work?

thanks Harambee!

What’s Jumping rope - comparison question? I don’t recall

@cookcfc, i thought it was balanced, im almost 100% sure that the question was asking about passage 2

I thought the answer to the movie critic one was:

“something about expression is more importnat than prose style”?

^Wrong.
does anyone remember the EXACT wording of the two “probably not” and “probably” answers from the Troy passage, and also does someone remember the EXACT wording of the last sentence of the passage? because i believe it was edited from its original state.

@blankusername

Glad to see someone agrees with me… if it was talking about passage 2, then it was definitely balanced, but it’s possible I read it wrong (The question).

I slept average 9-10 hours/day that week before I took the SAT. It was about passage 1.

can you explain?

Funding of radio short passage
56.harming the function of america’s democracy or something.

is it journalism interferes with politics ??? i think harming the function of america’s democracy is same as journalism interferes with politics…

@everlastingx
“Comparison” was the answer to a question that asked what technique does the author primarily employ in the first paragraph, which compared jump ropes to shooting a basketball and other stuff.

@user2134- thanks! i m pretty sure that’s the answer i put.

@cookcfc- it asked about passage 1, for sure.

@jr5550 - Probably not, because there is no documentary evidence.

What about the curve? What do you guys think this curve is going to be like? Any hope for a -4 = 800?

on the movie critic passage,
what was the question with two people?
can somebody give me the other answer choices??

oh yeahhhh curve. How’s this CR compare to other ones?
Mine is around 5-6, 4 at best but not positive. 7 at worst or maybe 8 who knows.
Anyways say it’s 7 for the worst case.
What would the score be?? At least over 700??

Commentary from my perspective from each question of the:

Controversial Questions

Passage about Trojan War
-thucidides based most of his work from Homer
(When I was reading this question, I remember distinctly on the new paragraph that Thucidides based large amount of his work of the 5th century on Homer. It states it in the passage explicitly, as the other options were not even mentioned in the passage that was relevant to Thucidides’ work)

-probably did occur because there was no evidence against it OR probably did not occur
(It probably did occur. The reason why is that it leaned towards, in tone, for the fact that it did occur. It talked about how people were strongly supporting this belief, even when evidence did not exist. Then, it stated that only “a handful of critics” went against this idea. Thus, the handful does not win against the majority, since people still believe it. Also, a 5th century text supported this fact that it probably happened, since with the time gap that exists, that such a belief could not exist in such a long time)

Movie Critic
-Whom would it offend? - Discerning Moviegoers OR virtually noone
(Virtually none is not possible. It pointed out that the people who watched “Sound of Music” hated being “controlled”. Which means that it definitely just can’t be none.

-passage suggest there was disagreement over her work OR her work was not viwed objectively
(I actually was not certain on this question unfortunately. I put that her work was not viewed objectively, since the passage was based on this concept that she did all of this beautiful work, yet people did not see the utmost beauty of her “vernacular” writing. I just couldn’t be convinced enough towards the disagreement concept, since I couldn’t find any strong evidence that it leaned towards this belief)

-the purpose of the personal anecdote in lines __ was to introduce something OR offer insight into her character OR -reflect the nature of writing
(I remember the question, but I was certain on the answer. Can’t remember which answer I put for this one. Sorry ): I believe I put something about lead in to the nature of writing, since the author elaborates afterwards about the writing. )

Rewilding
-undesirable OR inevitable
(It is definitely UNDESIRABLE. I remember getting stuck between these two, until I realized what the argument was based on. He stated that IF we continue going the way we are, then weed is going to grow, etc etc. BUT, he was stating this as a possibility if we leave things as they are. Then, the author points out the fact that we can do that whole “rewilding” thing to prevent such possibility. Thus, it is not inevitable.

ViggyRam sorry but no hope for that to happen

anyone remember what was the other choices for thriving… harsh one??? i really wish i didnt omit one accidentally and screw up the rest…T^T

^ yeah -7 will be at least a 700 on a normal curve, and i wish this one will have a nicer curve.

test
ignore this post

What is the curve gonna be like? -4=780? Is that too optimistic?

Following jsungoh’s precedent:

Commentary from my perspective from each question of the:

Controversial Questions

Passage about Trojan War
-thucidides based most of his work from Homer
This should not even be controversial

-probably did occur because there was no evidence against it OR probably did not occur
(It probably did not occur. I put down probably did occur for my test, and firmly believed it, until I reread original passage and really thought about it. I felt like the author was emphasizing the lack of proof often in the passage.)

Movie Critic
-Whom would it offend? - Discerning Moviegoers
shouldn’t be controversial either

-passage suggest there was disagreement over her work OR her work was not viwed objectively
(I think it is disagreement over her work. This is very clear proof of this, which is that there were critics who harshly criticized her. Think about it, how you would even view someone’s work objectively? )

-the purpose of the personal anecdote in lines __ was to introduce something OR offer insight into her character OR -reflect the nature of writing
(Introduction. Insight into author’s character is totally irrelevant. The anecdote was too vague to reflect the nature of writing. In fact the discussion of the nature of writing was INTRODUCED by the anecdote.)

Rewilding
-undesirable OR inevitable
undesirable, shouldn’t even be controversial.
