October 2010 CR SAT Thread

was there a sc question about a mayor showing the rich town to downplay the terrible economy of the rest of the town or something or was that experimental,

I second coup. AND. On all my practice tests (30?) I’ve gotten mainly 760s.

^yea on the june sats, it looked like i only had 5x on the mc (consolidated list), but it turned out i had like 8x.

And p2 IS balanced. BUT the question was asking for p1. p1 is emphatic.

user2134
yes, i remember that mc. don’t know what I put, however.

what was the emphatic question if it was only about p1?

I usually get 780-800 so this would be pretty bad for me.

There are three for balanced and 3 for emphatic so it’s pretty… balanced haha

@Ivysaur:

 • P2’s last paragraph (if we DID have the funds for this, we should spend it on) = alternatives to rewilding?
 • P1 would view ^ that last paragraph of P2 as … wasteful or inadequate? (I said inadequate).
 • P1 thought the future without rewilding was … undesirable? (Others put inevitable, but I personally thought it WAS avoidable because we have the option of rewilding).
 • Something about the cheetah in P1 and mammoth in P2 - both are extinct.
 • The situation with the camel in rewilding - unable to live in the nonnative environment.
 • Most important concern about rewilding raised in P2 - that the proxy species could irreversibly impact the native species and their ecological system?

And that’s as much as I can remember. ):

And @Comet, on the May SAT, I got an 800 on CR, tyvm.

Linger I put downplay…? What was the other word?

I put emphatic!

it was asking for 2 not one absolutely positive, sorry emphatic people

@ coup. It may have been undesirable but, i think it was inevitable based on vocabulary usage and what would happen if we didn’t do what the author said to do. (can’t remember what its called XD)

@coup i agree your answers.

THe question was asking about passage 1!

what was the emphatic question!?

^sorry seminolefan. It was asking for one. There’s no in hell it was asking for 2. I read that question like 3 times. Impossible.

can someone PLEASE make a list of everything

hey guys whats like 7 and 2 blank for this reading, im hoping for at least a 670

I read 10 times lolz. IT was defff 1.

it makes it sound like the question was worded like this: “with respect to passage 2 but not neglecting the nature of passage 1, which is equally as important as passage 2, what is the tone of the author in passage 1 compared to passage 2”
