<p>I dont remember an answer with detractors in it. Though a question did quote a line that had detractors in it. (the question that asked about what hacking most nearly means)</p>

<p>@wuu it was the time difference because the passage compared them by saying something like “that’s the same amount of time between the magna carta and present time…”

I thought that at first too. But it’s definitely to portray the time gap. It’s supposed to make the reader think about how a historian today could possibly replicate the accuracy of the magna carta without the magna carta ever being written down – like how homer wrote about the history of the Trojan War wayyyy after the fact. iirc</p>
