Um, I’ve been an ESL student for two years of high school. I came to the US from a non-English speaking country.

It’s about seeing a challenge, and working hard to surpass it. You being ESL is a challenge. You had all the time in the world to improve your English and practice; you didn’t.

I DIDNT LOL???
u r mistaken!!! i use to study for more than 8hs a day and i remebered a thousands of words ive been in the US for only 2 years!!!
it aint my fault!

Some guy mentioned a question about Rosa and her daughter or something where the answer choices included “adopts” and “undertakes” etc.
I think ive seen those words. Anyone remember what the question and the passage was?

@ icedcoffee
i think your argument is valid, but i took it a different way i guess
an imbalance of power would benefit the more powerful (greek alliance) still over the less powerful (either conquered peoples fighting the trojans or the trojans themselves)
if you are saying that the people were not coerced to fight and were not taken advantage of, then that would mean they have national pride, so it would not be misconstrued as fear. so i think they were at a disadvantage to those with more power.

100%, but its not just on the cons. list, my problem with the question was that it included that phrase at the end “at the expense” or disadvantage or something…but national pride did not seem right enough to put
this is why i like math :]

do u remember any other choice that seems to be possible too?
It was the very first question of either the 2nd or 3rd reading section (excluding the experimental one)… There were two blanks and one of them was before “challenge”: so, (blank) challenge… Do you happen to remember this?? lol

Was there Internet in your home country? Was there TV? Was English a school subject? I’m sure you had infinite opportunities, I mean, you’re sitting in front of a computer and Internet right now.
