question: what is the purpose of the anecdote on lines - to -? (the thing about sitting on the porch and thinking/I only think with a pencil in her hand)

answer: to /introduce/ the authors opinions on the nature of writing

I thought introduction was a different answer choice so got all confused.

I think you’re reading too much into it…the author was surprised at the fact that there was /no/ historical writing disputing the event. I suppose you could change it to ‘virtually uniform’ and ‘virtually unanimous’… but since the ‘uniform’ is already a extreme term the synonym would be unanimous.

I hesistated to put unanimous for the same reason, but the passage said almost uniform, so replacing that with almost unanimous wouldn’t be too extreme.

@user2134, exactly. I put that answer too because the whole passage was about ‘supposed’ evidence but nothing that was concrete. I never read the last few sentences of the passage though.

What about ‘undesirable’? Is that correct? I remember I was stuck between that and ‘inevitable’.

@lonely i don’t think that’s what the choice said. Wasn’t there a choice that went along the lines of “reflecting on the nature of writing”?
^ I picked that answer, but introduction sounds familiar, I think it was in there somewhere… maybe “introduces the authors reflection on the nature or writing” or something

there were two choices for “probably incorrect”… I think I picked the other one, not literature, anyone remember what it was?

Damn, I never read the last paragraph. Does anyone remember the question on the movie passage that was something like “Different approaches to writing” or “Substance vs. structure or something”

Which is the answer? I chose the former I believe.

@Harambee
NO… I guess I was thinking too much into it…
But do you happen to remember other choices? I’m not sure but I think I picked “recurring”… What’s wrong with that answer choice?
