ohhh, this -

question: what is the purpose of the anecdote on lines - to -? (the thing about sitting on the porch and thinking/I only think with a pencil in her hand)

answer: to /introduce/ the authors opinions on the nature of writing

I thought introduction was a different answer choice so got all confused.

Thanks lonelywayfarer
I think it’s starting to appear in my memory again

HOLY CRAP–if I do accidentally misbubble, say, questions 18-25, Collegeboard would regrade it right? o_o

@seungness

I think you’re reading too much into it…the author was surprised at the fact that there was /no/ historical writing disputing the event. I suppose you could change it to ‘virtually uniform’ and ‘virtually unanimous’… but since the ‘uniform’ is already a extreme term the synonym would be unanimous.

@lonely i don’t think that’s what the choice said. Wasn’t there a choice that went along the lines of “reflecting on the nature of writing”?

Probably 730 - 780.

Can anyone explain why ‘probably occurred’ is correct? I put probably didn’t occur because there is limited literature on the topic.

Also, is it a general consensus that ‘undesirable’ is correct?

And what is the ‘personal anecdote - introduction’ question? (no.43)

@linger

it was something like what does Kael/the author (doesn’t matter b/c the author supports Kael) think of the fizz of colloquial language

sorry I don’t remember more

@Viggyram i put probably didn’t occur because there was no supporting evidence.

I hesistated to put unanimous for the same reason, but the passage said almost uniform, so replacing that with almost unanimous wouldn’t be too extreme.

“in the ancient world it was the almost uniform belief that the trojan War was an historical event: the philosopher Anaxagoras was one of only a handful known to have doubted it, on the good grounds that there was no proof.”
[In search of the Trojan War - Google Books](<a href=“In Search of the Trojan War - Michael Wood - Google Books”>In Search of the Trojan War - Michael Wood - Google Books)

All of these questions are still debatable, and are not fully confirmed yet.

It was probably occurred because, in the last paragraph it made that very clear.

@user2134, exactly. I put that answer too because the whole passage was about ‘supposed’ evidence but nothing that was concrete. I never read the last few sentences of the passage though.

What about ‘undesirable’? Is that correct? I remember I was stuck between that and ‘inevitable’.

@lonely i don’t think that’s what the choice said. Wasn’t there a choice that went along the lines of “reflecting on the nature of writing”?
^ I picked that answer, but introduction sounds familiar, I think it was in there somewhere… maybe “introduces the authors reflection on the nature or writing” or something

there were two choices for “probably incorrect”… I think I picked the other one, not literature, anyone remember what it was?

So far I have either -4 or -5 wrong (probably closer to -5) anybody think this could still result in 750 or better?

I had thought “personal anecdote - introduction” was the same as the “nature of her writing” — can someone confirm that?

just my thoughts, I think “undesirable” and “probably occurred” are correct. (even though i had put probably did not occur…)

Damn, I never read the last paragraph. Does anyone remember the question on the movie passage that was something like “Different approaches to writing” or “Substance vs. structure or something”

Which is the answer? I chose the former I believe.

^it was style vs. substance

@Harambee
NO… I guess I was thinking too much into it…
But do you happen to remember other choices? I’m not sure but I think I picked “recurring”… What’s wrong with that answer choice?

@lonely, the other choice was 'definitely did not occur due to no historical documentation"

I put substance vs style, and it was asking what the purpose of the 4th paragraph was or something.
