October 2010 SAT - General

The test is in 9 hours...
I feel like crap: This week is the homecoming week, so today we did a huge parade float - required a lota work. I was at the football game till 11 pm. And we have a homecoming dance after the test tomorrow :(

I hope the experimental section will be writing.

Good luck nerds.

I’m supposed to be at the foot ball game
since im in cheer
but i really dont care right now
S.A.T. in like what 12 hours

Do you guys think the curve will be very strict on this test? Because almost all the national merit semi/finalists are taking the test. ALL 19 in my school are taking it tomorrow.
Usually only 25-30 people take the SAT each time at my school, but tomorrow there are 49.

The curve is already determined, so the quality of students taking the test can’t change the curve. I expect this curve to either be easy or average.

^ Why do you expect the curve to be so?

Bleh, I had a deadline night for Journalism and stayed at school until 11pm yesterday…
Not ready!

I highly doubt that. Source?

i thought that the curve was based on how students perform on experimental sections? Maybe im wrong

How do you know what the experimental section is going to be?

Logically, the curve is determined after the test. They will calculate the percentages and then make the curve.

^ No it isn’t. The curve is pre-determined. Lmao. It says somewhere on the Collegeboard website.

@TRUFF - Nothing too logical really. I’ve just noticed a pattern with the curves.

@3141 - [SAT Facts and FAQs](SAT Facts and FAQs)

@Wes - You can’t really determine that until after the test.

@web - Wrong. Refer to my link.

@turff, whats so damn funny?
@boston, thank you! i feel much better now.

The curve is predetermined by the scores of SAT-takers two years ago, not by this month’s test-takers.

Ohhhh great…

Boston, where on that page does it say that curves are pre-determined? I really don’t have the time to read through everything.

Is that site even official?

It just states the typical curve, not the curve for this month and i think that the site is also not official.

Finished it an hour ago - just came home :)

Just finished it too :frowning: I might as well register for retakes now.
