October 2011 - Math Level II

Official thread for the math level 2 subject test on October 1, 2011 ;-)

Okay 1st reply:

Copied from the Physics thread

Okay, USA is still going, so if you want to discuss post in this thread and you can PM other members.

Maybe post your expected scores also so people have a good idea who they should PM to ask.

I’m expecting: 800 (1-2 wrong)

If you can remember any of the hard questions, PM me and we’ll discuss

ummm isn’t the curve alot bigger?

^aussie is referring to how many he expects to miss. The curve is usually 44/50 for 800.

I’m expecting 780-800 (0-7 wrong I think). So far, I’ve scored a 790 and a 800 on the last 2 practice tests that I’ve taken. Good luck guys, let’s dominate tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

Yeh I got ****ed 730-770 on practice tests, but going over time limit. I’m predicting myself a 690 unless curves are a little more lenient. I ran out of time on question 39, and I did about 6 random question from 40-50. :P

International one: What did you guys get for the question about the distances from the point (-1,5) and (1,7).

whoops i got that wrong i guess. it must be some line crap

what was the probability of the integers

Compared to the math section for the SAT I part, how hard is the SAT Math II test?

crawlings - A LOT harder.
jameshadisurjo - pm me the full question and ill see if i can remember, don’t post it in the thread yet

edit woops lol got your pm responding now

So I got a 770 on SAT I, what should i expect for the SAT II?

crawlings951, they aren’t comparable like that, the whole syllabus they cover is different. So considering you know that stuff just as well as you know the Sat 1 Math stuff, you should get around 780-800 I think. But if you don’t know the stuff (note: its definitely more difficult stuff), you would get a lower score.

Well I’m in Calc BC and AP Stats so I can’t imagine it gets harder than that? Hopefully its not a lot of geometry…

Well I have the Barron’s book and from what I see there is a lot of geometry, but that might just be me. I’m not from the US (so no idea what Calc BC and AP Stats has in it).

Well I’m getting the study guide as well, but Calc BC and Stats is pretty much the highest AP classes you can take in high school, but its really in depth stuff so ill just utilize the study guide :)

Hey Guys!
Does anyone remember the answer to the last question? The one with the Trapezoid in which you had to find the area? Include the option choice as well.
Cheers.

Pmed. Don’t post detailed qs or answers in the thread yet.

hey aussie, will you pm me the question as well?
