When are we allowed to speak of specific questions?

right now

msg2short

excellent. Let’s start with the ones I remember, which I believe are correct.

From the 20min, last 3:
12 (B), 90 (A), something equivalent to 365 (E)

From the fill-in sections, #16 and 18
9, 3600

tell me your kidding with #16 as 9. I totally guessed xD I was just like, well it probably is like 3, 9, or 27. So i guessed 9.

Also I put #18 as 360 because I picked a random number, too bad I didnt put an extra zero. Oh well :P

What about the one with the overlapping circles? Was is 96pi+32 or 64?

haha yup, it was 9! And the answer you put for the 3600 had to have its square root as an integer, so 3600 was the smallest that did that. And that one was 96pi + 68. You seem to be a good guesser lol

what was one possible value to the question with the |y| - y??

it was 96pi + 64
I remember 9 and 3600, where did u get 365 from lol? what was the problem?

@ james, I put 1 because .5- (-.5) = 1

oh woops. anyways i guessed wrong with that one though! i guessed + 32 :P

oh well, those were the three i thought i had gotten wrong. for the y one i got .5 as my answer.

@james: I put 1/2 because Abs(.25)- (-.25)=1/2. Anyone with me??

OH yeah and the one with 7 terms was 1024.

James7209, the answer I put was 1/2, bc it said -1 < 2x < 0, so I chose -0.5 as 2x. Which would make x = -0.25. Using the |y| - y, I got 0.25–0.25 = 1/2.

haha Nynjal I actually had no idea how to do the circles one, so I converted all the answer choices with pi to numbers, and guessed between D and E correctly, bc they were the only ones numerically lower than 128pi.

I also got 1/2. :D

Looks like we all did the same thing for the |y| - y one haha

What was the question regarding the overlapping circle?

Just area?

How was it 96 pi plus 64?

@Syndekit. I too have this same question. That is why I’m asking what the question was. There is a chance that I might have misinterpreted the question.

Oh godddd, for number 18 for the free response, I put 60 because I square rooted 3600. HNNN. Anger.

so yeah, Nynjal numerically, 94pi + 64 = 365.

Hesterprynne = awesome name…Scarlet Latter was a good school book, maybe bc I actually read it.

I wish we could tag people in posts like on Facebook!

Which question had the answer 9?
What was the question?

Loseyourself and syndekit, #18 was:

2 circles with arcs of 270 degrees are connected. What is the total area?
