October 2012 PSAT score

has anyone got Oct. PSAT score? If not, when is the score be available?

thanks

December or January depending on your school.

We have heard nothing yet but typically my DD’s school gets them by December 10th.

Counselor just said the school should be receiving them in the coming weeks. Be ready!

I was just looking at the College Board’s site, and found this:

Your Scores
PSAT/NMSQT scores are reported on a scale of 20 to 80. In 2012, the average score for eleventh graders was approximately 48 in critical reading, 48 in mathematics, and 46 in writing skills. The average score for tenth graders was approximately 43 in critical reading, 43 in mathematics, and 41 in writing skills.

I’m wondering if they are referring to this year’s PSAT if the scores will be available soon. I also tried to pull up the scores from last year, but didn’t find the option for that. Is anyone else able to access last year’s PSAT scores with all the questions and answers?

I searched and found this info for 2011.

Junior average scores for 2011 (with comparison to 2010 data):

Critical Reading: 47.6 (0.3 increase)
Math: 48.3 (0.6 decrease)
Writing Skills: 45.6 (0.2 increase)

These would average out to the scores listed above, so this probably isn’t news at all, and it’s just last year’s averages.

I was just looking at m 2011 PSAT scores. I can still access them and the questions and answers.

My D’s school newsletter says Oct PSAT scores will be available on Dec 14th.

Will we be able to view them online even if our schools don’t give them to us that day?

I believe you need the access code from your school to view scores online.

You definitely have to have the code on the PSAT report your school will get before you can access anything online. If I remember correctly, even after you have the code it will be a couple of weeks before you can see the questions and answers.

^^ no code needed if:

If you have previously established an account at “My College Quick Start” portion of the College Board’s website, and your previous PSAT results are on there - your Oct 2012 PSAT score will automatically get picked up there around the middle of January 2013… Obviously many students (my daughter who is a junior this year & 211 as a sophomore) would like to get the scores as soon as possible… We plan to ask the school in early December if they will check it for us then, rather than sit on them until the January date…

Are all the scores sent to schools at the same time or in waves? I know many schools sit on the scores for a little bit before they choose to release them, but other than the additional days it takes via mail to some areas of the country, do all schools essentially receive the scores at the same time?

A new box appeared on my DD’s college board account which now asks for the code from her 2012 PSAT score report so that she could add that score to her account. It also said that her counselor has the report and should get it from her. This particular box was not on the page yesterday.

I had hope that the 2012 PSAT would automatically add to her account and previous PSAT scores but it looks like that does not happen in December. DD’s school said they would distribute the score report either this week or next week.

My son’s school in NJ has the scores. He just texted me that he got a 226…

^Congrats to your ds disneydebk!

Thanks, Hoggirl!

If the scores showed up in NJ then I suspect that we will start to hear reports this evening and throughout the week.

On College Board website students with test access code can log in for their scores

Congrats to your son, disneydebk!
