Got a 220 in CT, right on the edge. Last year the cutoff was 218, before that 220, before that 219. Should be good, hopefully, as long as Connecticutians don’t suddenly get three points smarter (which I’ll be stressing out about probably for months until I know whether or not I qualified). Although it’s been pretty consistent in CT, I don’t think it’s ever gone above 220.

Breakdown:
CR: 80 (surprised, I got a 660 on the SAT)
Math: 68 (also surprised, got a 770 on the SAT)
Writing: 72

Just got my score back (California), 223. And I’m really uptight: is it at all possible for me to qualify for National Merit in California? I know the cutoff for 2014 won’t be out for a while but, realistically, what are my chances of NM?

@ckfy63a: the cutoff in ca has never been over 223. Actually, throughout the history of the psat, it’s NEVER been over 223 in any state, so I would relax :D

Hey. I got a 220, in Cali.
The cutoff last year was a 220, year before a 221, year before a 219, year before a 218, year before a 217, and on…
Doe this indicate any type of pattern, that california’s cutoff is rising? or have the past few years just been higher than usual?
is there any indication of a general lowering or raising or the cutoffs this year?
ugh… just a 1 point increase kills me… and I have to wait a full year to know =(.

what did you guys think of PSAT on Saturday? Like high cut-off, cause I didn’t too well, I got a 222 but then again im in NJ :/. Anyone think cut-off will be higher than 222? It typically is 221 for NJ but 2 yrs ago i was 223. Sigh, i don’t think my score is enough? How did others think test was overall for Saturday, average or easy? I thought curve was too harsh. My scores, 76 math, 71 CR, 75 WR. I don’t like being on the border.

My daughter got 231 - 80CR, 76M and 75W. She got 1 wrong in each section. That should qualify for National Merit even here in Nj with the highest cutoff in the country!
