Aha, I also cried over my scores… I got a 640 on the writing section and a 9 on the essay. 3 sentence intro, 2 paragraphs of the 2 examples, and 2 sentence conclusion. I’m not surprised about the essay - but - I feel like I did really well on the MC but in reality, I didn’t. I wonder if the score rechecks have ever resulted in a raised scored?

I first took the SAT last October and got 8 on the essay and 710 on my writing section. That was after taking a Kaplan SAT class.

This time, after literally no studying, I got a 10 on the essay and 800 on writing. Last year I only wrote four paragraphs but this year I pushed for five and felt pretty good about it.

I hated the prompt and had no clue what to write about. However, I filled both pages and used a few (3-4) big words and ended up with a 9…my highest score. Funny how it works.

Same I somehow was scoring in the low 700s on my practice test but this recent test I didn’t even get a 60 on the mc. I did get a 10 on the essay but I felt the essay question this time was a lot more specific but it did help boast my mc up to the 600s.

I thought I did a really good job on my essay, I finished everything and checked over for grammatical errors, I wrote neatly to ensure the graders can read easily, and I used examples that I thought were pretty good. However, I received a 6 on my essay, which is really weird and I want them to recheck it but i dont want to pay the extra money. And, my writing score is a 570 which I think is so strange since on all my practice tests I at least score around 700

Weird o.O I dropped from a 760 to a 730 on writing. But I thought it was just the result of not bothering to study for it and focusing on reading. I got a 10 like last time though and I felt like I wrote significantly worse.

same here, consistently getting 780s for writing. Got a 660 this time… I swear its wrong

yeah i always got 10s on my essay and i wrote a full 2 pages with strong SAT words and I got a 7… i still can’t believe one of the graders would give me a 3

This question is for donnykim. I was impressed by your comment about the SAT writing. Where do you teach SAT? I live in Southern California. I would like to get some information about you. I have a 10th grade daughter who needs to eventually prepare for the SAT. Thanks.

I think something is really not right here. Anyway to get a rescore?

Call them! Tell them something is not right with the scores. Yes, it will cost you $50, but it’s worth it for people like me who think we got 2250 or even broke 2300, instead getting in the 2080 range.

I heard the essay was just terrible.

Wow it costs $50, that’s basically the price to just take the test again. Not to mention that if they check it there is no guarantee your score will improve.

Sent from my ADR6300 using CC

Well, if there is a mistake and it’s their fault, which I may think it is considering how many people get really low writing scores, they will refund your money

My problem with this ones sat: my essay score stayed the same:11, but my score did. I received 2220, n this one i got 2040, something i never get in practice test. Did i just do poorly? No. I was extremely happy with the test (right after i finished of course) but the score told me otherwise. I checked answers with cc, and strangely my predicted score was high 2200’s or low 2300’s.

I ordered q and a to be sure though…

Yeah, my score dropped too. I’m waiting until the 30th to see if anything seems a bit unusual in the detailed score report before I start spending money on a manual scoring. My essay score was good (10), but my MC score was a 57. According to CB, I’m a good writer who uses incorrect grammar. :rolleyes:

My math and reading score went up, while my writing score went down. I got a 10 on my essay this SAT and last SAT, so it doesn’t make sense how my score dropped down by 40.

I appeared for the SAT in Oct 2012 for the first time… my score really disappoints me (1410). I got 310 in CR, 400 in Writing and 700 in Maths. I cannot understand that how could I score such a low score, even in my practice tests I did far better than this. I was totally shocked on seeing my score.
I have applied to the Cleveland State University for Spring 2013 in Computer Science Engineering Program. I am really worried for my admissions. Also, I heard from many students that with a low SAT score, my visa also could be rejected.
I have completed my schooling in 2012 and I don’t want to wait till the fall semester. What should I do now? Should I re appear for SAT in DECEMBER.

@Takemymoney

Then you did worse on the MC part.

This isn’t rocket science.

@Niceboat
We don’t know that… read thread title. We think there’s a scoring problem. If I thought my score was correct I wouldn’t post would I?
