October 2013 Sunday Test

Let's discuss the 2013 Sunday test.

The non-experimental reading ones were the Pluto passage, Creole, Professor, nepotism, and like one more that's not coming to mind.

What did people put for "why does the author note the date" in the Pluto one?
Was it to highlight a long-standing distinction?

that is what i answered. how do you think it went?

I’ve gotten everything right so far that I’ve checked.

I’m a little nervous now. Remember that question that went 32, 16, k, 4, 2…

What is the value of k?

It was a really easy question, but I have this pit of my stomach feeling that I put 2 and not 8.

I think I’m remembering wrong?

Wanna assuage my fears and tell me that 2 wasn’t a choice? (Tell me that even if it’s a lie)

I think I put 8 because it was so easy (it was #1) and I can’t believe that I could get it wrong.

Confirm it haha…Anything that you were wondering on?

Wait, how come you took it on Sunday? I thought it was only on Saturdays.

IDK!!! if you remember the questions write them on here so i can see if i got them right.

Oooh, anyone take the Math 2 subject test on sunday? That might be too much to ask though.

and undefined, people who can’t take the regular SAT on saturday for religious reasons can take the test on sunday.

I took Math 2 on Sunday (not this Sunday haha)…

Too few Sunday test takers to get a meaningful thread going.

CAN WE start discussing the sat sunday test please?!

Yes haha.

My grid-ins:

1) Angle C was 60 degrees
2) 200 more birds needed to visist
3) x was 5 (such that 1/25 x^3 = x)
4) k was 2/5 (so that the equation had no solutions)
5) the cost of the car rental was $240
6) z = 3
7) The slope of the line was 3/5

Do you remember the other 3?

for the pluto passage, did you get complacency and apprehension, or ostentatious to humility?

and on the Professor passage, did you get respect toward what he didn’t know or limited knowledge?

I put complacency to apprehension. 99% sure that’s right.

For the professor passage, I put respect toward what he didn’t know. That’s 100% right. The passage wasn’t trying to point out that the professor didn’t know stuff—it was trying to give you insight into his personality and qualities, one of which was his respect toward his own intellectual limitations.

Do you remember anything else?

yes I do…

care to share?

yes, I want to pm you but haven’t posted enough…5 more posts. lol

sc’s groundbreaker, loquacious, pernicious…

on PLuto- main purpose was to discuss reclassification???

do you remember any hard writing questions?

what were the options for the pluto’s main purpose? I’m pretty sure i put reclassification

was something with supportive another option?

also, what did “many people” mean in the nepotism passage?
