October 2014 ACT discussion thread

@Ghfdw17 I am not really sure. I can make a guess though.

Where did you give the October ACT? Did you think it was difficult?

@Arjun25 I had 70 B too. There was no dual passage. I think the ones who gave the test in America had it.
How did you find the test? Did you think it was difficult? Where did you give the test?

Hi folks,

My son has a 32 composite from his previous test and wanted to improve science from 28 to 32 which will bring his composite up. He said that the science was easy in the October test but everything else was hard.

Would it look bad if his science scores are good and overall composite is low? How would colleges that superscore view that as?

Thanks in advance.

This is definitely the curve for the june 2014 form 72C test. I took it and got the tir, so i would know

^^^^ Austin is right. It is the right curve for june

The wait is so agonizing! They shoul have machines at the test centers where you can select the version of the test you took and it will tell you the score

Any one wanna predict my score
English: -4 to -2
Math: -2 to -0
Reading: -3 to -1
Science: -2 to -0

No offense DJFlash but honestly, what good does that do? Your scores come when they come and if you are that impatient then just look at some of the curves that people in this forum have predicted. Also, absent minded mistakes may be your downfall so you can’t just count on the questions you were unsure of.

We do this every test

Any one wanna predict my scores
English: -75 to 0
Math: -60 to 0
Reading: -40 to 0
Science: -40 to 0

All I’m saying is, there’s no point. I mean if it eases your mind on what the outcome may be then go right ahead. But I’m encountered so many people (including myself) who either felt they did very poorly or amazing and the outcome was the polar opposite. Just my $.02

@austin23‌ I believe that your English curve may be a little too generous and the science and reading a little too harsh, but idk. I guess in the end, whatever happens happens.

Could someone predict:

-1 to -2: English
-1 to -2: Math
-2 to -3: Reading
-3 to -4: Science

Thanks!

@Albertcollege I did account for brainless mistakes, by taking what I think I missed and subtracting 2

Will the scores come back in time to meet a December 1st deadline if I already selected the college in the score report.

curry, you’ll be more than fine. I have some schools due November 1st and even one due October 15th that are taking it.

Can someone help me out here, when do the 4 colleges receive the scores as soon as I get them or at a later date, because the first 4 colleges are free thats unless one removes it from the registration section after thursday…thanks!

@YOLOOLOY‌ -Hey I found the ACT quite difficult .
Math was really hard and scienc too was kinda hard.
Reading was Ok & English was medium .
Hoping for a good curve on the math

I wrote the test in India .
Wbu? How did u find the test ?

@Arjun25 It was relatively difficult compared to the one I gave in September. I messed up my timing in the Science section. And, even the math section was difficult this time. I hope the curve is generous for both.
I gave my test in Nepal.

can someone predict my score:
english: -3 or -5
math: -5 or -7
reading: -0 or -2
science: -9 or -13

science really got me :/
