If I take the ACT on Oct 25, about when will the scores be available online? Last time I took it, they were available within a few days (except for the essay score).

@vvn1997 you will begin getting your scores Nov.11. It says it on the website.

Does anybody have good advice for the English section? I got a 23 on the Sept. one and all my other sections were substantially higher.

I got the same score

@fahi12
I’m a junior and i got a 32 in september but i’m shooting for stanford so i have to get that score up 1-3 points. I got a 35 in english mostly because i’ve taken at least 50 practice tests and i know exactly how the act wants the answers and can quickly eliminate the wrong answers

Struggling so much with the lack of time, heeeelp

@Jellybae You can use that book, i guess if youre new to the act, but the real act tests and the ones online from real tests are the best ones because those are the ones that will most realistically show what will be on the real test. i have the pr one youre talking about and constantly got around 30s and 31s on it, but ended up getting a 33 on the real one. i guess some of it depends on how hard the difficult questions are, and the luck you have in answering them.

@austin23 I got a 34 on the last english without prep but how exactly do they want the answers? Mostly shortest/no error?

I feel like the red book is too easy & I keep getting 30’s on it but when I take the real test, it gets difficult. I guess it’s just my nerves that’s getting to me.

I’m shooting at least a 30 this time around. I got a 23 my last time because I was terribly sick while I taking it.

@jooWonie Oh my goodness- I have the same goal. Also I got a 25 last time because I was sick too. But I’m sick again this time, so I’m not sure how well this one will go.

i’m getting good sleep tomorrow after school. i’ll probably go to bed at around 8:30 and sleep until 5:30. i think it would be a good idea to wake up a little early to get my brain woken up. i might exercise a bit and eat a good, healthy breakfast at McDonalds lol.

if you’re a sophomore or junior do not stress and get so nervous! you can always take the test again if you do not get the score you want.

@TurtlesRWe I wish you the very best, my friend! I hope your feeling better by the time Saturday rolls around.

I think I’m going to drink Awake English Breakfast tea to get my brain going before the test. I need the caffeine.

taking it this Saturday as well! i feel so unprepared b/c i only relied on the practice book.

I plan on taking it again(after a prep class) in december but ugh!

what snacks are you guys getting?

guys i’m taking it for the first time and i am literally taking it with no prep. bless my soul.

@jooWonie thank you! I’m already regaining my voice (not that being able to speak affects my testing performance lol). I’ve never heard of that. I usually wake up an hour before I have to leave the house and listen to loud music. Then I drink caffeine with breakfast!

Taking it Saturday as well to up my science score in particular since two of the school I’m applying to superscore; need to up English and Reading as well :/
