October 2014 ACT discussion thread

33 C

33E - missed 3?
35M - missed 2?
30R - missed 7?
33S - missed 4?

@saxplayer100 Yeah mine’s only showing two subscores, an 18 and a 16 and my section score, a 35

Any tips for improving science score? I got a 34/35 all around except in science, even though I finished.

C 34
English 32
Math 35
Reading 33
Science 34
First and last time taking this as a senior who never studied its pretty good :)

YAY! I GOT MY EXPECTED SCORE OF 29 BUT NOT MY GOAL SCORE OF 31. OH WELL.
ANYWAY
C: 29
E: 30 (MAN I THOUGHT I ONLY MISSED 2(
M: 27
R: 26
S: 31 (DAMN THIS WAS A GENEROUS CURVE BECAUSE I GUESSED ON 15 HOLY SHIZNIT)

@hannah27 what is your score?

SO mad I got another 30. I was really hoping for a few points higher so it could give me that extra push to apply to u of m since I live in MI. My science score was the same as last time so I guess they didn’t change the curve.
English-30 (down one point)
Math-28 (down one point)
Reading-34 (up two points!!)
Science-27 (same)
So that’s a 30 wow I just wish I studied this time around, with school being busy I didn’t have time until the night before where I did half of a practice test. I guess I should be happy it didn’t go down to a 29 because two of the sections did but still:/ I already got accepted to two colleges and waitlisted at my number one college so this testing time was really only for fun to see if I could get any higher and see if reach colleges were in the question but now I guess they’re not.

September test:
27.75 C
30 E
31M
23 R
27 S

October test:
27.75 C
27 E
32M
23 R
29 S
Exact same score!
Which one do I send to colleges?
I was thinking the September test because two of the scores were above 30. I also got a 10 on the essay in September. I want to be an engineer though, so the October test might look better because of the one point increase in math. Which score would you guys send?

35!!! COME ON!!! 36 in science

26 C
30 E (Up 4 points)
29 M (Up 2 points)
20 R (Down 1 point)
25 S (Down 2 points)

I’m really happy about my English and Math scores, however Reading is what really killed me, like the last time I took it. xD

35 C
33 E (Messed up on scoring?)
35 M
36 R
36 S

I cannot believe it. Went from a composite of 32 three times in a row before this.

Still registered :’( :’( :’( :’(

Yup, I’m definitely only sending my SAT scores haha

Can anyone give an estimate of how many questions they think they missed along with their score?

@LAWithANakedLady I got a 28 in science versus my 35/35/34 in other scores. Any advice as to how to improve?

WorkSAT2014 Looks like I was correct in expecting it to be 1 a.m. est. More importantly, my son had a nice improvement and we are DONE. He went in cold the second time but being more relaxed helped a lot. My daughter had the same experience. Nice to take it once. Get a decent score. And then to retake fairly quickly to improve every section when feeling more relaxed. At least that strategy worked for both of my children.

1st time
25 34 21 26 = 27

This time
30 29 26 25 = 28

SUPERSCORE

30 34 26 26 = 29

I’m soooooo MAD. My score stayed the same

Will more scores be posted later. Someone please answer

I don’t know what else to do. I did intense practice tests and went to act prep classes. I mean, whenever I take the act, either one subscore will go up or go down. In this case my English went up 6 points and my reading went down 4 points. I give up.
