***OCTOBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@FeelsScr3wed I’m just hoping for the best on that one lol.

Is it possible to get 1 question wrong and still get a 36 (like in math)

depends on the curve, potentially no

What do you guys think the curve for the October ACT will be? My predictions:

English: It was easy, curve will be normal: -1 = 35 etc
Math: It was sooo hard! Hopefully it will be generous: -1 = 36, -3 = 35 we can dream right?
Reading: It was easy: -1 = 35
Science: It was easy, except now I know I got a question wrong :(( hopefully the curve is normal: -1 = 35 and not -1 = 34!!!

@FeelsScr3wed Oh no! I also got the science wrong then. I didn’t think that was common knowledge though for people who didn’t take biology. Hopefully the curve will be generous? ^:)^

The most generous score range I’ve ever seen. Hopefully it will be like this!!!

@mecheleceng it’s most possible to get a 36 even if you get one wrong in math, but it’s not for sure every time.

@mecheleceng -1 on math is a 36 pretty often, it was on the June ACT

reading will probably have no curve. it was straightforward and there wasn’t much memory involved (if you had the reading about the illustrator, the grafitti artist, and silent music, etc)
math will have -1 at least (harder than most math sections i have seen)
probably same for english
science im so upset about that question, it’s one of those things that you get super frustrated about because i had that answer until the last second and changed it… :9
just need a 34 for the ivies so lets hope i get it ;l i’ve never taken any standardized testing before
(edit: if there is no curve on science i am going to be so upset, i had never practiced science and not gotten a 36. i was almost in tears when i realized i had just made that stupid mistake…and i can’t take it again because early decision is due in a week. fml )

That makes me feel a lot better - I am usually good at math, but I thought this one was hard… I want a composite 32 (this is my first ACT). Next time, I will aim for a 34

@FeelsScr3wed AH I need a better curve than that for math! Here’s to hoping we all get the scores we want ^:)^

Praying that curves are generous. I think reading was fine and science too. I was iffy on the tadpole one but other than that, I think it’s okay.

CAN WE ALL AGREE THIS WAS ONE OF THE HARDER ACTS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN? CMON ACT GIVE US A GENEROUS CURVE. looking back on it i dont think i got anything wrong on math so hopefully i can still get a 36 even with one wrong on science and a messed up grammar section. ;l

Anyone else get a LOT of ‘A/F’ (no change) on English? Made me second guess quite a bit.

TBH, I think (for Juniors at least), its time to start studying for December :((

one more question how long until scores (multiple choice) usually come out?

math and science was pretty good
english was ok
reading was hard

Anyone know when we get our scores back?

@FeelsScr3wed November 10th if there are no delays

Math wasnt that bad, except the for the fact that I just realized that I got 1 wrong already. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. rip 36 dream ugh

What do you all think the curve will be like?
I’m guessing here, but I think:
English: -1 or -0
Reading: -0
Math: -10
Science: -6 or -7 ish

Just aiming for that 33. I have a 32 superscored right now…ughhhh!!! This was my last time taking it for EA schools anyhow…

@idkName which one? you can still get a 36
