I’m a Junior, just took it for my first time, had a tutor since August.
This past week I did a practice test for each section (The Real ACT Prep Guide, 2011-12 Test) and got
35 Math
35 Reading
32 English
28 Science
The real test was a bit harder. Reading wasn’t too bad, science was average, english was a little hard, and math was way harder then any test I’ve ever taken.
I had 75R and the first question of the english was really hard, you know what I’m talking about if you had that one. I have a great strategy for reading but when I got to it I just said screw it and just looked at the questions and searched for the answers instead of reading the passages.
I’m looking at schools like UT Austin, UNC, Michigan, and more. If I get a 32 or above I’m not going to take it again, but after today, I think it will be between 28-30. So I’m probably gonna do the December one.

Science was easy? I got a 34 on my science in semptember and with my superscore, i gave up on science. I thought science was hard, especially the one with the protein and the forest one. Welp, I guess the curve will be brutal this time around.
Anyone have any substantial evidence for the difference in this test and that of September?
For this one: i thought reading was easier, math was the same, science was harder, and english was the same. And the essay was wayyy easier to write.

How long does it take ACT to delete a test date record from the time I send out my written request? I would like to delete my September ACT, but would like to know if it’ll be gone by mid-December. I want to see my October ACT score on November 10 before deleting my September score. If anyone has deleted an ACT score from their test date record, please inform me.

@1964manicmom most merit aid decision consider the ACT Composite score, so I hope her science score improves this test cycle so her composite increases.

Fax your request to delete. It is faster. It can be deleted within a week.
Third time taking it. Since my Writing score was pretty good (33) the previous times I took it, I didn’t read up on the new essay format since I knew that it would have no effect on my composite score. I thought I improved on the four main sections, but I completely screwed up the essay. I ended up writing it SAT-style (how/why I have no idea) and barely used any evidence. I’m guessing it’s around 25 (or maybe even lower, I was really out of it by then lol). When I send scores to colleges, is there any way to block this out? I know you can pick and choose which test dates you report to schools, but I want to include today’s composite score. Will the terrible essay score today look bad and lessen the weight of my previous 33 on the essay part? Thank you. (highest composite before today is 31.)

Welp, got a 33 in September. Just hoping for a 34 to make myself look at least remotely competitive to CMU.
Did anyone have a test other than 75A??? Anyone from OHIO?
I wrote the most badly written essay yesterday, but it’s 3.5 pages long. So if I get a good score, I’ll be the living proof that length outweighs everything else in standardized essays!!!
