@polarknut That is probably true for many top colleges, but for the one I’m looking at (WashU) I don’t believe it’s going to be an issue. I know Stanford looks at your entire testing history, but I’m not sure of too many others. Regardless, I’m very proud of my hard work and dedication – I had people say there was no way in hell my score would improve after I dropped to a 30. Look who’s laughing now.
Hey guys…I know this is embarrassing but I only get 26 on the ACT(This was my first and Last time). I am a senior. So, can you tell me in which colleges should I apply? I don’t need financial aid. Do I have any chance to get into BYU Provo

What I mean is… If most people get low scores than they predicted, that mean that the row scores wasn’t very “friendly”. ( that is according to my point of view)
@Sld1234 I think you have a good chance for BYU Provo, but both UCs you mentioned will be reach colleges since they’re stats-heavy schools with lots of California competition.
You should check Purdue University and Georgia Institute of Technology.

@polarknut @chubii Yea i’m just in one of those unbreakable moods right now. It’s super frustrating to know that one stupid mistake cost me a 34. N my GPA is also average for Cornell, i was just hoping it would set me apart a little more. IDK just super frustrating, and i don’t mean to bother other people with it although i was 1/2 expecting this score.

Even though my composite is a 32, my superscore is now a 34!!! HALLELUJAH. And yeah, I also went from a 34 in science in September to a 26 lmao.

- do colleges care if you got, say, a 33.5 vs a pure 34 composite? or do they only see as a 34?
- If you want to apply for a math/science heavy major (engineering), will a top college (such as Stanford) not look at you if those were your two lowest section scores ( :-/)?
- How much do colleges care about the ACT essay bc i messed that up big time?
@polarknut waiting is the worst! I wonder why my scores are delayed… When do you think we’ll get the scores? ACT says they post every Wednesday and Friday.

If it’s an extremely competitive college, @ACTwhyy, then it’s likely they wouldn’t even bother to look at an ACT composite purely because there are so many other competitive candidates who scored 36 non-composite, single sitting. And simply enough, I can’t stress the essay enough, considering that it’s what distinguishes you from the rest of the applicant pool when you’re looking at nothing but numbers and extracurriculars. It puts a name to the face.
