Hi, I am from Hawaii and really want to get OOS to major in finance
I have a 33 ACT
1960 SAT- 730M, 600W, 630R- Retook should get about a 2050 because I studied for three days, haha.
Worked as a math tutor since 10th grade
No AP’s, Honors, IB because my school doesn’t offer them
Rank 1/83 4.0 GPA W and unW
Mediocre essays
Strong Rec’s
Questbridge finalist, but didn’t rank colleges
EC’s- VP of FFA, NHS, SBG
team captain of cross country and wrestling
200 or so hours of volunteer service
Will be running 2016 LA marathon- sponsored by USC
I am a white male, and don’t think it matters but I come from a family of 7 and an income of 18000 a year
What chances do I have for Unc chapel hill(EA), (the rest are RD)- Notre Dame, USC, UAV, Bentley, BC, Wash. in St.louis, Emory.
@DaPueo Pretty good chance, your ACT puts u above the average at those universities. And the strong recs from high GPA and first place ranking is going to help.
@DaPueo I think these colleges will be a little more understanding if your school clearly offers no opportunity for AP classes at your school. As long as your secondary school records demonstrate the highest amount of rigor possible for your class, then I’m sure you’re fine. If I’m not mistaken, your counselor fills out all of this pertinent information.
@polarknut I have 10 classes including calc and physics and stuff as well as one dual enrollment class, my essays scare me and I forgot to mention that my counselor is terrible so that rec scares the crap out of me.
uhm the fact that my score dropped from a 29 to a 26. da hell. oh well… everything will be fine with my 29 i guess… even though i really needed that 30
FUUUUUUU@#!
E: 34
M:29
CR:26
S:28
Composite:29
I was one point away from a 30. ONE!!! Literally, if I would have made a 27 on CR I would have made a 30 What should I do to calm my nerves?
Haven’t posted in a while but I’ve been following this thread for a while. This was my 2nd time taking the ACT, and I went from a 22 to a 27. Overall so happy! Just incase anyone else out there needed some hope. Might try for a 30 next time, haven’t decided if I’m going to take it again yet
