***OCTOBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Yes I did all of those haha. I hear Barron’s is good but I’ve never tried it out for myself

Great job @tina23! Congratulations!

@satwrecker72 if you PM me I can help you with reading tips.

@asianhope, if you can prep and retest, you would benefit from doing so. Good luck.

great job @2kidfromNJ ! Congratulations!

great job @FireBallsDJ! Good work. Are you done testing now?

@HereToHelpYou Btw, thanks again for the tips you sent me! And yes, I just took the SAT last saturday too, that was my last test.

You’re welcome @FireBallsDJ. It must feel good to be done!

I think the science and math may have been scored wrong, something like they mixed up a couple question answers on my form of the test; I thought I got a 36 on the math and got a 32, and on the science I thought it was at least a 30, but that went horrible and was a 25. Is anyone else having this issue? It sucks because we can’t get the test back, is there any way that I could contact ACT to get the test back with my answers?

@gueybaby you cannot buy the answers for October, only Dec, April and June.

I have to tell you, I have never seen a score change with a hand re-score.

Ya there’s NO way the ACT screwed up. Now I’m really curious because I haven’t received my scores but I am sure I got a 34+ on science

It went well for me, I called my exact score leaving it, butt I was hoping I did slightly better. Oh well, still good.
35 C
35 E
35 M
36 R
35 S
Even though I know a 35 is very good for a first try with little prep, it’s disappointing to get that 35.25. Also my school requires all juniors (which I am) to take the statewide ACT in April for unless they already have a 36, so I guess I can get that later, and I’m pretty sure my writing was mediocre.
It’s also disappointing because before my freshman year I wrote down a list of goals for high school, and getting the 36 would mean I accomplished more than half, and a handful or so of those goals I can no longer accomplish, so that’s disheartening.

Well now that I’m done with my classic CC not perfect sadness, I guess I can help with the curve. English I could have missed up to around 4 or 5, I think the curve was fairly generous, although I could’ve missed as few as 2. Math I missed at least 2, possibly 3. Reading I missed 1 at most, and I’m fairly certain I missed 1 at most on science, so I think -1 is definitely a 35 on science, but you never know.

I’m sorry but What is MP and how does it Work ?

Oh and looking back at my post I had a ton of typos, so that just goes to show that you can score well on a multiple choice test and look like/be an idiot.
Anyway everyone, you’ll end up in a good situation and one test doesn’t determine who you are.

hey, if anyone else here lives in hawaii and needs a confidence boost all you have t do is look up hawaii’s act report for last years graduating class.

sigh… status still registered, when will be the earliest that i can check for my score again?

Reading is either a hit or miss for me…I can either score in the high 30s (33+) or in the mid 20s (28-) - rarely in between. For the October ACT (first time taking), it was a miss, sadly. My Scores:
Composite: 32.25 (stupid .25)
English: 35
Math: 36
Reading: 26 :frowning:
Science: 32

Can anyone please give me reading tips, or help me consistently score in the upper range? It’s the one thing bringing me down from my goal of a 34+. Thanks!!

I thought I reached my ceiling with a 33 act/2220 sat but finally broke it and got a 35 composite! Unbelievable happy right now and for those of you who did not get their target score, don’t fret! Just continue working hard!

This 34.25 makes me want to scream :((

does anyone have a sense of when we’ll see writing scores?
