***OCTOBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Anyonelse got a row of C’s in the science lol

Reading and Science were great!
English wasn’t my best
Math was fine

The last 10 on math were terrifying
that one with the circles and the triangle… lol

Science was way too easy; expecting a really tough curve tbh

Reading writing fine as usual for me

I just got murdered on that math section yo

I got murked on reading. English went very well though. Math was better than science, but that one part on math finessed my life. English>Math>Science>Reading

I felt good about every section except for reading, as always. From June, I got 36 Science, 35 Math, 35 English, and 30 Reading, for a 34 Composite.

This time in reading, I felt that the prose fiction, social sciences, and humanities were easier to understand, and I got better at the paired passages. However, when the proctor said there were 5 minutes left, I hadn’t even started the fourth reading passage on natural sciences, so I had to hurry and do all 10 of the remaining questions in 5 minutes. I feel that my answers are for the most part correct since I usually get all the science reading questions correct, but I’m still not confident that I increased my score.

Math I felt really good about. English was as easy as ever but I could have made silly mistakes. Science I kinda blew off cause I was still recuperating from the stress of Reading.

Overall, I’m expecting 35-36 Math, 34-36 English, 28-34 Reading (lol im so scared), 35-36 Science.

Had to guess on about 5 English, about 5 Math, about 11 Reading, and about 9 Science.

I think all of the questions I answered without guessing, I got right.

If I did, according to the past curves, my Composite would be a 30:

33E, 32M, 27R, 27S.

And in this prediction, I didn’t account for the possibility of about 1/4 my guesses being correct.

I’m hoping for a miraculous 32.

This is for anyone who wants to see, but mainly for my purposes as I wait for my score, and my first impressions.

(Accounting for correct guesses, Composite: 31, about 25% chance of this happening. Variation in scores: My predicted range at this moment is 29-31).

@WallTitan117 i agree completely.

I don’t understand why some of you retake the test when you already have a really good, competitive score.

I guessed on like ten math problems and didn’t even have time to answer two.

To me English was easy, math was ok, reading was good, and science was ok. I loved the essay topic. Does the ACT with writing always end an hour before it’s supposed to? My room got out at 12:30 and the people who had rides told them not to be there until 1:15, including me.

I thought English was difficult

@haroldsteinthree nice

Poor daughter wasnt given 5 minute warning for english and had to guess on last three. Do they always give warning. Proctor gave warning for others.

My proctor gave a 5 minute warning with only 2 minutes remaining. Reportable?

Were there different forms this time? I had 75A and I thought the math was easy (hoping for 36), English was pretty average maybe slightly harder than usual, reading was ok but I had to rush through the last passage in 5 mins because I ran out of time, and I thought science was kind of hard (had to guess on last 3 because I ran out of time)

@letmeseetheworld I probably guessed on 15 math questions. Don’t even get me started on the last math question…

Oh and did anyone else feel like one sentence on the English in one of the middle passages just didn’t make sense with any of the choices…?

@Kat2016, I did. I don’t remember the question though.
