October 22 International Site

Hey.
I took the test at an international site and I'm finding the questions different from the ones people are discussing about.
I'm not sure about the form number, but I think the question/passages were about:

English-A female artist, Festival in Delhi, etc..

Math- too many to be specific

Reading- A boy moving to a different city, how scientist study animals, learning how old trees are...forgot the other one.

Science- don't remember a lot for this one either..

Anyways, did anyone take a test similar to this one??

Where did you take it? I took it in Brazil, got form 64B. I guess it was a different form. What was your essay topic? Mine was on whether or not outstanding athletic or artistic students should leave high school without receiving a diploma if they were offer an opportunity to play at the professional level.

I took it in Mongolia. I think it was about if parent’s should allow kids to have private tutoring or something…bummer… I guess international students receive different tests…

@monjinho : the other passage in the reading was about an indian filmamaker.
in english there was text about Enos Mills and one hit wonders as well.
I had the same essay topic as you.
I took it in Greece.

@anakos
haha. it’s nice to finally see someone who took the same test as me. How do you think you did?

english well except for the last passage where I might have some mistakes due to time shortage.
mathematics did well except for question 3 with the japanese and spanish courses question, question 14 and guessed one question.
reading I practically guessed half of passage 2
science I guessed the last 2-3 questions due to time.
in the essay I had pretty solid ideas.but you can never be sure regarding writing.

hoping for 28+

you?

haha. similar.
I am a good English student (30-34s on practice tests), but i thought the rhetoric questions on this test was unlike the problems i saw before. I don’t know…it kinda threw me off. Overall, I ended with about 14 minutes to spare…I rechecked about half the questions…but I still wasn’t sure about someone of the rhetoric questions. For example, there was one asking on the second page, " what would be best if added here blablabla". The sentence before that was about here moving to some where else in europe where more influential artists were working at that time. I chose something like “where the great artist, Cezanne, was working” maybe B…I’m not sure…

Mathematics was easier than the practice tests. But since I never did amazing on math, I’m not really sure. I guessed on the last 5 questions, but I think the rest is probably correct. What was the question about the Japanese and spanish??

For reading, I ran out of time. I guessed half of the natural science. I’m also not 100% solid about all the other questions either.

Science was not too bad. I guessed close to 5 questions due to time shortage.

Writing…I think I did bad. I miscalculated how I was going to use the time and end up finishing without a solid conclusion.

Not really sure how the score is going to turn out. Since it’s always good to guess as low as possible and prepare for the worst…i’ll think around 26-27. Haha. I hope it’s higher.

What are some questions you’re not sure on?

some on the english passage. two to three questions in the math.
no.3 question specifically regarding japanese and spanish courses in a high school and question 19 with the number of pizzas sold. in reading the second passage and in science some questions in the last passage.
was it your first or second time?

this was my first.
Yea. The question about the pizza was confusing. It took me awhile to figure out that the question asked for two types of answers: the total amount she sold (for the store) and the amount SHE would get.
It confused me because there were two formulas for the two types of questions asked, but I think I figured it out.

For the question in English about to elude, to allude, elude and allude, what did you put down? I said ‘elude’ but it was kind of a guess.

oh! and in the first passage of reading…who was the guy friends with the main character who was moving? I think there was cousin, brother, etc…

regarding ellude I think I put “no change”
in the first reading passage, I answered that Gerald was a guest. It said that he stayed in the guest room. The confusing part with the question was that the father had said earlier in the passage to the daughter: Watch over my boy and stuff like that.
Whatever happened, happened. Have you sat for the iBT yet?

hahaha I guess I’ll just have to wait for the results…
I’m hoping that I won’t have to take toefl since I might get a diploma from an American high school. Are you going to the states for school?

Scores are out!
