October 25, 2008 ACT Discussion- English

and tehre was a nother one which you subsistuted 'it' for something right (it was tlaking abt an obj i dont remembe rhwat)

@ grahams

I put the same answer too because by being specific, it helped support her first paragraph

k cool thanks haha makes me feel better

yay thanks makes me feel better haha

lol, lets just hope that we're both right. :)

I changed it to "Africans..." because the first sentence was something like "It's difficult to trace the origin of... (whatever the paragraph was about)."

i put the corn was necessary for the 1st step.

i think i put who.

changed to incans, africans, blah blah blah

changed to location for the stalin one i think

point ahead definitely seems the most awkward.

and what was the medieval thing you were guys are talking about?

no change to the stalin paragraph twiz

bleh i second guessed my self. what was that term they coined for the operation, i thought it was addressed in the first paragraph so it made sense for it to be next to the paragraph that explained the terminology or something along those lines.

I don't think it was necessary to change the "others." The point of that paragraph was about peanut butter and the time period during which peanut butter was invented. Changing it didn't seem to add anything to that paragraph, but it disrupt the flow.

^ Veinnes or something like that. Yeah that made sense that they would discuss the terminology of the name.

Ok, so it's

"... from that point ahead..." ?

Why isn't it "... from that point,"? I think that this one is the most awkward because it doesn't imply that the next main point is ahead in time of the preceding sentence (if you understand what I mean...)

Least acceptable one:
occur, played out, show up, and something else....I put played out.....agreed?

agreed .

I HATE these least acceptable questions. I was stuck between showed up and played out. I think i chose played out.

Any tips on how to study for these type of questions?

I put show up.

I put show up. I mean, an event can't just "show up" right?

that is true, oh i may have gotten one wrong, bye 36

Yay, I also put "show up." My run for a 36 is still alive.

Let's get back to this "point" question.

Which one is least acceptable?
point, point ahead, point onward, point forward...

I think its "point", but what do you guys think?
