**October ACT Thread**

something with a higher viscosity and higher concentration will take more time to filitrate through?

What were the other options for the velcro question (What came first question)? I know that I got that "directly" question right, but now I don't know what I put for that velcro question (I remember my conscious arguing that velcro hasn't really been around for as long as people think, something about it being invented sometime past the WWI or something).

nicole07 - Yes. For example, glue will take longer to filter through something than water.

Seems like it has been around a lot longer than auto paint though. Auto paint really wasn´t mentioned. That question was stupid.

yeah it was one of the questions..

I'm pretty sure the answer was velcro. the answers were all fairly modern, and velcro was mentioned in the passage about some of the earlier things.

Blah, but I don't know what "modern" is since I don't know exactly when stuff was made. Does anyone know what the other answer choices were? Was the paint one of them?

English was easier than usual, taken it 4 times and this is the easiest so far. Math was harder than it has ever been, never seen it this bad, totally not prepared for that kind of stuff. Reading was pretty easy, confident on all but two. Science was a toss up for me, as usual. Just took SAT II in chem and remembered the nuclear chem for the last science passage. Alpha decay = subtract four from the top number and two from the bottom number. Some helium isotope thing.. the whole test seemed REALLY different. Omit = Delete? Apparently some people don't understand what "OMIT" means. Curve will probably be set high. Good luck everyone.

I put auto paint...

Does anyone remember the height and radius of the cylinder?

whats 1800 sat on act scale... 26?25?

What about it?

Ya, around 25-6

Azure:

The answer choices as I remember them were (not necessarily in this order): auto-paint, Velcro, roof shingles, and hearing aids.

I put Velcro. In the passage, it said something bout "the innovations from nature have been historic" then it went on bout velcro

I'm pretty confident it was velcro.

Do u guys remember the question in english.

It was like the turkey passage.
The question was...
"I ran through torrential (rain, to the covered cages)..."

Do u guys remember the answr

so that would be a no on the height and radius thing....
blah

Bah, then I got it wrong (I put auto-paint) :(

I got it wrong to! =(

ok...was i the only one who got a math problem about directix and parabolas and crap? i had nooo idea what that was about, i didn't know they'd put freaking precalc on the act! i think it's calc or precalc, but i don't know, i haven't taken the class.
