***October SAT 2016 (US Only) Thread ****

I thought this particular SAT was more difficult than most of the practice tests I’ve encountered (not counting kallis reading practice tests) because those are painstakingly hard, in my opinion. The math sections were both ridiculously easy, but the last question on the calc section through me off a bit. Either way, i’m sure I only got 1-2 wrong on math. The reading was okay for the first 3 passages but the last two were hard and time was also an issue for me and I had to rush through the last passage. There were many graph analysis questions that really werent relevant in determining reading proficiency… Caught off guard by the reading, the grammar, which I usually get a perfect score in, seemed more difficult than usual, but that could just be a psychological thing. The test actually seemed easier than the one I took in June. Hoping to get at least 1550

someone explain to me how they did the last question of the sat math section calc part where it asked for probability someone scored a 5 on day 3 and 4

Reading and math were about the same difficulty, while I found writing to be a bit harder.

I thought the math section was way easier this time I just forgot to what median and mode were.I thought reading was about the same as last time, passage one of the history text was kind of hard to understand.

@ObitoSigma Well apparently my friends are telling me I got another one wrong… (1:2 or 2:1) lol… ughhhh

I’ve never been good at math, so maybe that’s why I thought math was just way too hard. I couldn’t process the questions lol. On the other hand, the reading and writing parts were a joke to me.

At first glance the math was easy, but once you go to reddit and see the answers, the test had a ridiculous amount of tricks (old sat style), unlike the official practice test on khan where all questions are straightforward. This threw me off honestly, I didn’t pay enough attention to catch the tricks because I didn’t expect them to be on the test.

Is the math part generally this hard? Or is it just me because I’m only good at English? I was in such a bad condition on the test day, so perhaps I was a bit affected by it. Honestly the old SAT math questions were a lot easier for me… Why is that!!! I hate myself. I’m pretty sure I got only one or two wrong on the reading and writing parts… MATH WHY YOU DO DIS TO ME :\

@YoohooAddict That one confused for a second lol. Remember that the point they gave you was a clue. So when they say b:a for (a, b), it’s practically reducing b/a.

@ObitoSigma I know… I’m pretty sure it said a: b not b:a lol…ugh, like I read it twice, but just so many ppl tellin me I’m wrong wth.

How did it go,

Can’t discuss, material or content… But math was pretty easy for me. Writing was OK. Reading was OK too… Lol

@AeeROx I mean this not in an offensive way, but knowing that there will be tricks is not what gets you correct answers in math. Practicing math gets you good answers in math.

Having no “tricks” would make the test, frankly, useless, because then everyone would get an 800.

@BunnyMonster jus look up Reddit SAT on google itll show up

@BucketsUCSC I think you meant to tag the others who’ve asked for the link. I’ve already DMed them with specifics

I got 800 in math for the old SAT, but I got a really bad score in reading (600) :frowning: , so I had to take the new one. Personally, I think both math sections were really easy, but it seems like the very last question for calculator part confused a lot of people including some of my friends. I thought I definitely had the right answer because few of my friends whom I talked to got the same answer as mine, but a kid who already got an 800 in math for June SAT said he had a different answer, so I’m quiet nervous. I think reading and writing sections were a bit harder than the practice tests, but it might have been just my bad condition because I went to bed at 2:00am lol. Hopefully I can beat my 2150/2400 (old scale) on this one.

Are scores released on the 27th?

^^ Yes

i have a question. is the test for sat with essay and without essay the same?

i thought the math was extremely easy compared to previous SATs. reading was average and writing was relatively easy too.
