Can someone give me a score prediction:
Reading: 2-3 wrong
Writing: 2-3 wrong
Math: 0 wrong
Also, if I took SAT with essay and got an essay score I’m content with, can I take just the SAT to get a better score but still report my October essay score?
Thanks.
750-ish, @APS2000
@APS2000 750-760 V, 800 M total: 1550-1560. Good job
If I get -4 Math, -6 Writing, -11 Reading, what would be my score around?
@YoohooAddict Probably 770 M, 690 V, I think there might actually be a 1 or 2 point curve for this year’s writing section, it was harder than average
@APS2000 Thanks man!
could I have score predictions?
Reading: 8 wrong (eep!)
Writing: 2-3 wrong
Math: 2-3 wrong
@Yayeducationlol 38-39 W, 34-35 R, and 780-790 M… Putting you at 720-740 V and 780-790 M… Putting you at 1500- 1530
@YoohooAddict mmkay! Thanks! Fingers crossed that I get above 1500 lol.
@Yayeducationlol I just want 1450+, but realistically, I know that’s too far from where I’ll land lol…ugh
Could I get a score prediction? Reading: -6; Writing: -0; Math: -0
1560/1600 @veagle18
@clo055 I dont think you understand, I took the June SAT and got a 720 on math, I took all the 6 practice tests released by the CB, so I have a lot of experience on how the math section should be. All the tests that I have took (whether practice or real) were very straight forward. The october one was really tricky, in fact a lot of people who have gotten perfect or near perfect score on the math section have complained about wording and phrasing.
@AeeROx I took the May SAT and got a 700. It was tough. This time around, it was a breeze, but ya I already know I made 3 silly mistakes… eh, still tho, this one was easier than the May one.
@AeeROx Also, can you give us some proof for this statement: in fact a lot of people who have gotten perfect or near perfect score on the math section have complained about wording and phrasing.
Does anyone know the score good enough for any college? I looked at Harvard’s 75th percentile and it was 1550, does that seem good enough to not retake?
imo yes @APS2000
if neither of your scores is sub-750 you’re just grasping straws trying to raise 'em
at that point the adcom will prolly be like ‘oh, cool’ and move on to everything else
@OMPursuit thanks, that’s what I thought, also if I took the essay in October do I have to take it with any other SATs or can I just report the October score?
I’d think you wouldn’t have to do it again, if you’re satisfied with the score. In that situation I would report both scores. @APS2000
@AeeROx I have also taken the 6 official practice tests plus the 2 PSATs recently released.
You have “experience on how the math section should be”… truth is, there is no one way the test “should be”, it is up to the College Board.
In my humble opinion, compared to the others I do not think this math section was difficult or particularly tricky (although I probably made a few mistakes as well). It had a few q’s that might catch you if you weren’t careful, but all good tests should do so. If the SAT was a straightforward test, there would be no difficulty to get an 800, which defeats the purpose of the test.
Perhaps this math section was less skill-based and more application/word-heavy than usual, which may be true. Anyway, it’s your opinion, and I have mine.
