October SAT and Early Action

Hello everyone,

I was wondering how the October SAT scores would be submitted to colleges with early action, given the deadlines are so close. (EA deadline of, say, Nov. 1) Would this mean that the only option to send the October score to the EA school would be directly indicating on the testing form that you wish to send it to the school, therefore preventing one from seeing his or her score before sending it? Or is there enough time to see your scores online, decide, then send your score?

Thanks.

bump

Did you not take the SAT your junior year? Or did you score better senior

You need to check the colleges to which you intend to apply EA (or ED). Most accept Oct scores even if they are sent and arrive after Nov 1 in which case you can wait until scores are released to order them sent; a large number of those even accept Nov test scores for EA or ED. However, a small number want the scores either in their hands or sent by no later than Nov 1 in which case you should designate the college as one to automatically receive scores upon release in your test application (that is the fastest form of delivery); those colleges will tell you on their sites that scores must be in thier hands or sent by no later than Nov 1. If you are having trouble determining on a college’s site whether scores can be sent and arrive after Nov 1, then likely it is one that does accept such scores and one way to confirm is to see if the college says it accepts the Oct ACT for EA/ED. If it does accept the Oct ACT for EA or ED, it is a college that accepts scores after Nov 1 because those ACT scores are not even released until second week of November.

I see; there seemed to be some ambiguity in wording for few of the colleges I’m looking at, and I just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
