OCTOBER SAT Subject Test: French

So how was it?

Oopsss totally didn't see this and made my own.

Sorry about that one.

ANYWAYS, this was my second time taking it, so clearly I'm not expecting an amazing score, lol.

I thought the passages were pretty easy, though! They were all much shorter than the passages I remember from the June one. o__O

Also, does anyone know anything about the curve? I skipped 8 (lawl) and am estimating (hopefully harshly) 12 wrong, which would be -24 or 61. Do you think that would be above a 600? >__>

I found http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/3840314-post2.html. Hmmm well I hope I only missed 12... lol. I would faint if I got >700. XD

i thought it was really hard

there were a lot of questions where i didn't know 2-3 of the answers

what was the passage about a girl recalling her childhood?
it was like a marriage
she had a crown of flowers
she wrote inscriptions
i was so so so confused

Passages were alright. Vocab was stupidly hard, though! The AP test was easier!

The passages were pretty easy but the vocab was so difficult!

Is the answer for the pneu question flatte? And couvert de neige or couvert de la neige?

In response to spikypufferfish, it was like a funeral. She did have a crown of flowers, she said incantations that she cannot now remember.

Good luck everyone!

For the pneu question:

I thought it was **crev

Oh,

For the passage with the girl who had a crown of flowers, the thing that she was performing was a ritual/ceremony, right? Did any of the right answers to that passage contain the word "p

Yeah, it is creve; I just verified it online. :(

Xzibit- "Un pelerinage" does mean a pilgrimage but the question expressly stated the "most important action" of the excerpt, which was the whole incantation ceremony and burial of the seed at the end. I thought it was very much like a funeral.

i think it was couverte de la neige

but i'm not sureee

Hmm... Now I can't even remember if I chose that answer!

But in the meantime,

What did you guys get for the last blank in the "ferocious animal" passage?
All of the answers started with "m", I think...

I thought it was "couverte de la neige", too!

I just checked it- it's "couverte de neige."

couverte - Dictionnaire Français-Anglais WordReference.com

And the ferocious animal passage- I had absolutely no clue so I just left it blank. :/

^ Darn!

Regarding the advertisement/article about cleaning the environment:

Was "une conference (of something)" the right answer to one of the questions?

and for what the ritual was like, didn't she have a white sheet or something? i thought that was like a veil...

oh i totally skipped the one where all 4 answers started with M

it was the last blank on the second paragraph

i had no idea what that animal was. i assumed it was a bull or something

can someone tell me what the right answer was for that question where there are no professional dancers, so the profession is one for the young

and there was also something about a thing "chaleureux" and i put A but i had no idea what that was

^ My guess for that answer was the "m" word that didn't have a "ment" or "ait" added to the end of it.

I don't know...
