OCU Freshman Class of 06/07 - Any PA Major

Hey, I was just starting a post so that maybe some of us going to OCU might get to know one another before next year. So, where is everyone from and what’s your major?

Well, you already know this, but I am from Los Gatos, CA, and majoring in theatre performance.

Yes, I'm really excited to have the chance to get to know some people before arriving on campus in the fall.
I'm from Mission Viejo, CA and I'm majoring in theatre performance. :)

I'm a transfer from Dean College in Ma, and I'm a BA in music. I'm coming with two other transfers from my school, lol, one in theatre performance, the other in musical theatre.
I am soooooo excited for next year.

I'm from Pearland (Houston) Texas and I will be majoring in Theatre performance also, I am so excited lol!!

Wow, it seems like there are more people going for theatre performance this year from CC than there are for mt!

My daughter, who does not post on CC, will enter OCU in the fall as a Musical Theater major. We are from the northern suburbs of Chicago and her name is Kara (not Jordan)!

Hey
I am gonna be a MT Major and I am so Super pumped!
It's gonna be wicked awsome! Oh and they call me......... Bob
SRW's SON

So are any of you going to Stars 101?

It's way too expensive for me to fly out to OK, so I won't be able to make it. I'm not too worried though, it's surprisingly easy to adjust to college (or a new one in my case.)
Whoever is going though, have fun.

Oh, and for those of you not going to Stars 101, when do you (or did you) plan to register for classes?

I will be at Stars 101 in july I think

I'm waiting on a list of credits that have transferred for me then I'll most likely be registering over the phone with my admissions councelor.

^That's what I'm doing tomorrow.

Ok, so I called to register. A lot of classes already seem to be full, like tap A, which is disappointing. (I'm on the waiting list) Also, I didn't realize entertainment business classes were for majors only, as are most MT classes. And I had really wanted to take Intro to Entertainment Business I and Music Theatre Workshop... hmm...

My d was accepted as a dance management major - and the dance performance and dance management freshmen had their schedules available nearly at the same time as they were accepted. So some of the sections may open up, if someone decides not to go to OCU.

The dance management degree leaves very little, if any, optional courses. You can pick from the selection of ged ed classes, but it is a very full four years to qualify for the degree, since it is both entertainment business and dance performance.

thanks for the link, be-a-star! We are from Georgia. My D, Mary-E, is an incoming MT freshman. Three kids from our town are already at OCU - two in dance and one in MT, and another dancer from here is going to be a freshman as well. I'm glad you told us about registration! We should get right on it. We may possibly go to the July STARS, but it's pretty far for us. Aren't they supposed to do dance leveling at the orientation? I'm going to forward this link to my d and see if she'll join in on her own.

Hi Me'smom, I was wondering if you are from Millageville. I have a friend there who says they like to joke about how everyone is moving to Oklahoma. Just wondering????

TheatreNote, everyone from here IS moving to Oklahoma! A Vice-President, the new Petree dean, and, as of next year, 5 students - all from Milledgeville. Except for the administrators, I don't know if there are any who are not P.A. The student total will be 3 dancers & 2 MT. Great for carpooling...16 hours one way...

Wow! What's very cool is about the exact time you posted - I was talking to Blair, who was at our county jr miss program! I would love to meet all of you!
