Ocu freshman class

Bump!

Just wanted to move this thread back to page 1.

~Lexa

OCU just got added to facebook a few days ago. I can't wait to get my OCU e-mail address so I can be a real college student with a facebook account. Haha.

I just got my email (because I went to stars 101) and got my facebook account and am having a blast. I totally feel like a college student now, mostly because of Stars 101. I met many new students and got my schedule, email, and finalized housing and fin-aid. The experience was very beneficial and I'd recommend it to anyone who is questioning whether to go or not.

Any questions about Stars 101 PM me or my mom (chrisr) or my well known friend (kaed).

~Dave

Bump!!

And I also wanted to let all you guys know: I went to OCU's website and clicked on OCU email. On the FAQ page, there is a link that says, "I am a new student. How do I find my username?" I searched for mine and apparently all our email accounts are up. We just have to sign in. So, like Dave, I got my email and created a facebook account! I totally agree that I really feel like a college student now.

Just wanted to pass along the info!

~Alexa

Thanks for the info, Alexa! I just created mine!

Now that OCU has posted the schedule for Welcome Week we should start planning a get together for the CC crew. Anyone have any ideas? It looks like they have things for parents until Thursday night.

P.S. When is everyone's graduation date? S's ceremony is on the 10th - we'll sit through over 800 kids getting their diploma.

our graduation is on the 3rd, about 600 kids. a cc meeting sounds great to me.

My d's graduation is May 28...only around 220 kids. We WILL have to plan to get together at OCU!

How about all of us getting together at the School of Music luncheon on Thursday???

some of us are theatre and won't be at the music luncheon.

I'm afraid my husband and I will have already departed by Thursday. My d moves in on Monday, August 15th, and we can't hang around that long. Is there another day/event?

Kim,
How long will you be there?
Chris

do we all arrive on the same day? if so, lunch that day might be best. there's a chili's and several restaurants not far away. and how do we propose to recognize each other? a little ribbon on the collar, perhaps? other ideas? it really doesn't matter what, just something.

Chris,
We are going to arrive in Oklahoma on Sunday, and I believe we are only staying through Tuesday. Alexa checks in to her dorm on Monday the 15th with the Honors students and I talked with her admissions counselor about the parent meetings throughout the week and she told me that we had probably already heard all of the info during the School of Music meetings, and that most parents from out of town leave before the end of the week. I teach school, and we have our first workday on Wednesday the 17th, so I am going to try to get back home by Thursday so I won't miss too much work.

Kim J

I think we will get there on Tuesday, but it won't be early in the day. What about Tuesday evening?

I'll be graduating on he 29th, only 80 kids because I go to a private school.

Could someone direct me to where the schedule for Welcome Week is posted? I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks!!

Fingers - go to the home page of OCU, look on the lower right hand corner and click on New Student Orientation.

I think we will be arriving late in the day Tuesday also, at best we could make it by 5PM.

Chris,
We are supposed to attend an Honors student/family dinner from 6-7:30 on Tuesday. I might have to rethink leaving early on Wednesday so we can meet the other CC parents! We will have to find a time to get together.
Kim

we will check in on wednesday. it looks like there's no need for us to arrive on tuesday since we have most of the day wed. to check in and we only live 3 hours away. so, we'll come up that morning. lunch on wed would be good for us.

While I know we can't please everyone what about trying for 7:30 Tuesday night for dessert and then again on Wednesday for lunch? Also for those that can make dinner Tuesday there is a great pizza place not far from campus that could easily hold a crowd. We ate there last November and my son can't wait to go back.
