what do u guys think u need as a gpa and sat etc… to get into scholars or honors, or even gemstone? thanks.

instate or out? The standards are much different because it is becoming more known to out of staters as a respectable school.

in state, catholic high school, 1400 SAT, 3.5 GPA....any chances?

I would say you're in to the school....

As for honors/scholars I'm not sure but I would say you have a good chance if your gpa is unweighted(if its weighted it's a bit low and I don't know what to say).

I too am applying to UMd so good luck!

the 3.5 is unweighted, i have lots of honors and AP classes (all in math and science....none of that BS "ap art" crap..(sry if ur an art guy anyone..) ). good luck to u too man!.

You should get either scholars or honors most likely. Probably not gemstone though...

what about for out of state?

The stakes are higher for out-of-state -- know of a 3.8 with 1320 SATs who was rejected last year.

punkrawkftblman- I actually am the "ap art" crap type girl but no offense is taken because I agree that it is a big GPA booster. I've got a 3.94 u/w 4.5 w, 28 ACT(1260??) lots of ECs and statewide leadership positions. So, my stats don't really make for the honors program but it is not my top choice school... just a financial fallback.

Good luck
